Signpost Maze
The Signpost Maze is a location in Link's Awakening.[1]
Features and Overview
Signpost Maze is an area with numerous Signposts, which point Link in the direction of the next one to read. It can only be reached by crossing a five-hole gap with the Hookshot from the direction of Ukuku Prairie to the north.[note 1] The Hookshot is also necessary to complete the Maze, as the Signpost in the southwestern corner of the Maze is otherwise inaccessible.
By following the Signposts to their correct destinations, Link will reach the final Signpost which congratulates him for following the correct order.[2] Afterward, the entrance to Mamu's home will appear as a pond in the Maze drains, revealing a staircase into an underground Cave. Inside his home, Mamu greets Link and offers to give Link an exclusive musical performance in exchange for 300 Rupees.[3] If Link pays, Mamu teaches him the "Frog's Song of Soul".
After Link leaves, Mamu will leave his home to go singing on tour.[4]

- In Link's Awakening and Link's Awakening DX, it is possible to both reach and complete the Signpost Maze without the Pegasus Boots or the Hookshot by jumping diagonally with the Roc's Feather.
- Due to a oversight in the original Link's Awakening, one of the Signs located near the centermost Tree other than the first will instruct Link to go to another Sign instead of starting over when interacted with.

Notes
- ↑ In all versions of Link's Awakening prior to Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch, the gap was only three holes across and could be crossed by using the Pegasus Boots in tandem with Roc's Feather. This gap was increased by two pits in Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch, making it impossible to jump across naturally.
