The South Lomei Labyrinth,(BotWBreath of the Wild | TotKTears of the Kingdom)[1][2] also known as the Desert Labyrinth,(BotWBreath of the Wild)[3] is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

In Breath of the Wild, the South Lomei Labyrinth is a maze located in east Gerudo at the foot of Daval Peak. There are two Koroks near the Labyrinth on mesas that overlook the area. A Guardian Stalker wanders an area to the south along with a nearby Decayed Guardian. Two Black Bokoblins patrol on top of the Labyrinth walls. Upon entering, Link hears a voice telling him that he shall receive a blessing at the end of the Labyrinth and he is given "The Desert Labyrinth" Shrine Quest.[4] Link can see the Ancient Shrine beneath a gate on the floor that is located in the central corridor.

To navigate the maze, Link must climb across walls to avoid touching the Pools of Malice along some of the labyrinth's floors and walls. He must also be careful of the Stalizalfos, Stalkoblins and Stalmoblins that can be found here in the night. Throughout the Labyrinth, Link can find several Treasure Chests containing a Silver Rupee, a Gold Rupee, a Gerudo Scimitar and a Gerudo Shield. He can also find a Golden Claymore and a Golden Bow trapped in some of the Malice. He can use Magnesis to retrieve them. Once Link reaches the end of the Labyrinth, he will discover the Dila Maag Shrine and the Shrine Quest will be complete.

Minor Enemies

Tears of the Kingdom

Tears of the Kingdom's incarnation of the South Lomei Labyrinth is mostly similar to its Breath of the Wild counterpart. Pools of Gloom have appeared within the Labyrinth, and the Dila Maag Shrine has been replaced by the South Lomei Chasm, which leads directly into the South Lomei Depths Labyrinth. Far above the Surface Labyrinth is the South Lomei Castle Top Floor in the Sky.

Once Link has read a tablet at the Labyrinth's entrance and reached its center, a mysterious voice will instruct him to reach the northern entrance to the Labyrinth of the sky, starting the "The South Lomei Prophecy" Side Quest.
