Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

The Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm is located behind the Yiga Clan Hideout in the Gerudo Highlands. It is a bottomless pit, and Link will void out if he falls into it. The hidden door leading to Master Kohga's Room can be found near the Chasm, though it can only be opened from the inside.

During her Divine Beast Tamer's Trial 100 years ago, Urbosa was tasked with throwing the Sacred Orb into the Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm.[2]

After Link infiltrates the Yiga Clan Hideout during the "Divine Beast Vah Naboris" Main Quest, he will be able to pass through the door leading to the Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm. There, he will be confronted by Master Kohga, who recognizes that he is Link and proceeds to fight him.[3] After being worn out by their battle, Master Kohga summons a giant Spiked Iron Ball to crush Link, but he accidentally rolls himself over and falls into the Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm.[4] As he falls, Master Kohga swears that the Yiga Clan will remember him and seek vengeance on Link.[5] Following this, a stone Treasure Chest containing the Thunder Helm will appear at the edge of the Chasm.

As part of the "EX Champion Urbosa's Song" Main Quest, which is exclusive to The Champions' Ballad Downloadable Content Pack, Link is tasked with emulating Urbosa's Divine Beast Tamer's Trial by throwing the Sacred Orb into the Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm.[2] To do this, he must steal the Sacred Orb from inside the Yiga Clan Hideout.[6] He can find two treasure hunters, Mina and Mils, nearby, who are considering infiltrating the Hideout to take the Orb for themselves.[6][7] After throwing the Sacred Orb into the Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm, the Kihiro Moh Shrine will rise from the ground. Both Mina and Mils are angry with Link for doing this, claiming they would have taken the Orb if he did not want it.[8][9]

The Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm opened in the giant pit behind the Yiga Clan Hideout as a result of the Upheaval. It connects directly to the Gerudo Highlands Depths below. The grounds of the Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm are littered with Tumbleweeds. If Link is caught attempting to infiltrate the Yiga Clan Hideout, he will be taken here to fight the Yiga Clan Enforcers.[10] The Yiga Clan Enforcers can be fought an indefinite number of times.

When Link faces Master Kohga for the first time, he reveals that after he fell through the Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm in Breath of the Wild, he ended up discovering the Depths below.[11] As a result, the Yiga Clan were able to access the Depths prior to the beginning of the Upheaval.[12]
