The Rowan Plain Well is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.(TotKTears of the Kingdom)[1] The Rowan Plain Well goes unnamed in Breath of the Wild.

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

The Rowan Plain Well is a Well that can be found on the eastern end of Rowan Plain in the Great Hyrule Forest. Prior to the Great Calamity, it was part of an unnamed Hylian settlement, which now consists of a single Ruined House.[2]

Link can encounter a Traveler near the Rowan Plain Well. When spoken to, they ask if he knows the way to the Gerudo Desert.[3] If Link claims that he does, the Traveler will be relieved.[4] However, should Link say he does not, they will be confused, as they thought they had seen him there before.[5] No matter how Link responds, the Traveler reveals themself to be a Yiga Footsoldier,[6] and they proceed to attack Link.[7]

Enemies

Tears of the Kingdom

The Rowan Plain Well returns in Tears of the Kingdom, and it is still located in the Great Hyrule Forest.[8] At the start of the Upheaval, a Chasm opened beneath the Well, which allows Link direct access to the Great Hyrule Forest Depths when he Climbs into it.

After Link has defeated Master Kohga at least three times during the Side Adventure "Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan", Mighty Bananas will begin appearing in the Deserted House next to the Rowan Plain Well. If Link tries to pick them up, he will hear the voice of a Yiga Footsoldier mocking him.[9][10][11] A group of Yiga Clan members then appear and proceed to attack Link. Alternatively, should Link be wearing the Yiga Clan Attire when he interacts with the Mighty Bananas, the voice of a Yiga Footsoldier can be heard telling him off for interfering with their trap.[12][13][14]
