The Death Mountain Chasm is a Chasm that opened on top of the Death Mountain Summit at the peak of Death Mountain when the Upheaval began. It connects directly to the Death Mountain Depths below.
When the Death Mountain Chasm first appeared, Yunobo went to investigate it to ensure Death Mountain would not erupt again.[2][3] While he was there, he encountered a Phantom Ganon disguised as Zelda, who gave him the Weird Mask to wear.[4] After Link frees Yunobo from the Weird Mask's influence during the "Yunobo of Goron City" Main Quest, they decide to investigate the Chasm for signs of her.[5] When they approach the Chasm, they catch sight of the impostor Zelda again.[6] However, they are interrupted by Moragia rising from within the Death Mountain Crater, which they must defeat before proceeding.[7] Afterwards, Yunobo becomes concerned that Zelda fell through the Death Mountain Chasm, and so he beckons Link to join him as he jumps into the Death Mountain Depths.[8]
