Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

The Aquame Lake Well is situated among a set of ruins along the eastern end of Aquame Lake in Hyrule Field. Before the Great Calamity, it was part of an unnamed Hylian settlement, which now consists of Ruined Houses.[2]

Tears of the Kingdom

The Aquame Lake Well returns in Tears of the Kingdom, and it is still located east of Aquame Lake in Hyrule Field.[3] The Well now has an interior chamber, which Link can access using a Ladder leaning against its rim.

Inside the Aquame Lake Well is a Traveler equipped with a Traveler's Sword and a Hunter's Shield. They are practicing fighting against a Dummy that has Arrows and Weapons stuck into it, counting as they do so.[4][5] If Link asks them why they are counting, they claim that they are tallying the grievances they have against an individual who has defeated many of their brethren in combat.[6] Alternatively, if Link requests to count with them, the Traveler says doing so would be difficult, before telling the same story about the harm their family has been subjected to.[7] In either scenario, they identify Link as the individual responsible, at which point they reveal themself to be a Yiga Footsoldier and attack.[8] During future interactions, the Traveler will battle Link immediately after being spoken to.[9]
