Characteristics
Baba Serpents are Deku Baba-like plant enemies with red, snake-like heads with black stripes, blue-and-purple forked tongues and thorn-covered stems.
Like Deku Babas, Baba Serpents emerge from their roots to attack Link when he treads nearby. When a Baba Serpent's stem is severed, it will slither after Link for a period of time, lunging at him if allowed to come close enough. If their lunging attack lands, they will bite into Link and hold onto him, which requires a Spin Attack to escape. A severed Baba Serpent will eventually return and reattach to its base if it is not defeated.
Baba Serpents are vulnerable to all weapons including Swords, with the Spin Attack being an ideal attack in dealing with multiple Serpents.
A Monster Variation of Baba Serpents known as Hanging Baba Serpents also appear in the Forest Temple and Dig Cavern #1.
