Lava Rock
Lava Rocks,(EoWEchoes of Wisdom)[1] also known as Lava Slabs,(TotKTears of the Kingdom)[2] are recurring Objects in The Legend of Zelda series. Lava Rocks go unnamed in The Wind Waker, The Minish Cap, Spirit Tracks, Skyward Sword, and The Minish Cap manga by Akira Himekawa.
Location and Uses
The Wind Waker
Lava Slabs appear inside the Dragon Roost Cavern. They can be created by throwing Water Pots at Lava. When thrown onto a Lava Geyser, they can act as platforms to lift Link to higher elevations. Lava Slabs are unstable and will break apart after a short period of time.
The Minish Cap
Lava Slabs appear inside the Cave of Flames. They have flat tops and spiked bottoms. Some are stationary while others move in patterns across the surface of Lava pools. If a Lava Slab is hit with the Cane of Pacci, it will flip over, exposing its opposite side. They can be used to cross pools of Lava, though they will quickly break apart with pressure.
Spirit Tracks
Lava Slabs appear inside the Fire Temple. They can be picked up and thrown onto Lava Geysers to be used as platforms. During the Boss battle, Cragma will attempt to crush Link with his fists; the young hero can lure the Lava Lord toward smashing fallen Boulders instead, flattening them into Lava Slabs. Link can then use these as platforms on a nearby Lava Geyser, allowing him to reach a Mine Cart and begin the next phase of the battle.
Skyward Sword
Lava Slabs appear around the Eldin Volcano. Link can create Lava Slabs by throwing Water Fruits at pools of Lava.
Tri Force Heroes
Two types of Lava Slab appear in Tri Force Heroes. Square Lava Slabs appear in certain Stages of Blazing Trail and Den of Flames; these Slabs rest atop Lava Geysers and act as platforms to lift the Links to higher elevations. Octagonal Lava Slabs appear in certain Stages of Blazing Trail, the Fire Temple, and the Scorching Zone; they are used to bridge gaps of Lava, but will quickly sink into the Lava if any of the Links stand on them for too long.
Tears of the Kingdom
Lava Slabs are created when Water touches Lava. They can be used as platforms to allow Link to cross lava safely.
Echoes of Wisdom
Lava Rocks can be seen floating in Lava in Eldin Volcano, being lifted by Lava Geysers.
Other Appearances
The Minish Cap (Himekawa)
Lava Slabs appear in the Cave of Flames while Link is fleeing the Gleerok. They have a spiked top and a flat bottom, and are flipped by Link from their top side to their bottom side using the Cane of Pacci.
