The Fire Temple 1F is a location in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Features and Overview

The Fire Temple 1F is the base floor of the Fire Temple. Its entrance hall is blocked by a Gloom Rock, which can only be destroyed with Yunobo's assistance. When Link and Yunobo first arrive, they spot Zelda advancing to the center of the floor,[2] which is barred by a gate.[3] This gate is controlled by five padlocks with stone lizard heads that resemble Divine Beast Vah Rudania. Near this gate, there is a Terminal that will activate a Travel Point nearby. This Terminal also releases the gate, though the gate cannot open unless the five padlocks are released remotely from various points throughout the Temple.[4]

From its center, the Fire Temple 1F branches into the north and south. To the south, there is a room containing a river of Lava with an active Hydrant pouring into it to create moving Lava Slabs. Beyond this river, there is a larger pool of Lava blocking access to the far end of the room where a Mine Cart station sits. Two Mine Carts with Fans can be found in this station. Mine Cart Tracks lead to the south out of this room. By default, the Tracks are arranged in a loop, though a Rail Switch beside them can be struck to change the path and allow Link to access the southernmost room. In this room, there is a barrier controlled by a nearby Shock Switch. This barrier blocks Mine Carts from continuing forward along the Tracks until the Shock Switch is pressed, opening the path back north and up to the Fire Temple 2F.

Another Gloom Rock sits atop the tracks leading to the next floor. When this Gloom Rock is destroyed, the barrier containing one of the Soldier Constructs on the floor above is released, allowing it to patrol the Tracks on the second floor in a circular fashion. South of these tracks, there is a Lava pit blocking access to a chamber where one of the padlocks is housed. However, this chamber is blocked by a Gloom Rock that can only be destroyed if Yunobo has a pathway across the Lava.

The northern branch of the floor is barred off, and can only be accessed by Paragliding from the equivalent room on the Fire Temple 4F. Inside this enclosure, there is a gong that releases one of the padlocks. There is also a Shock Switch that opens the enclosure, allowing for Link to enter and leave at will.

Upon successfully releasing all five padlocks, Link can use the Terminal to lower the gate and create a bridge to the western room. Due to the hemispherical shape of the room, Yunobo is capable of rolling up the sides of the room to strike the Gloom Rocks on its ceiling. By doing so, the duo will reveal Marbled Gohma, the Boss of the Fire Temple. After Marbled Gohma is defeated, the Fire Temple's Secret Stone will descend from the ceiling to be claimed by Yunobo, the new Sage of Fire.
