Not to be confused with Sand Crabs, recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series, or Running Crabs, enemies in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland.

Crabs are recurring creatures in The Legend of Zelda series.[1]

Appearances

The Wind Waker

In The Wind Waker, Crabs are small, helpless creatures that are found near the Water on islands across the Great Sea, usually on Sand but sometimes in Grass. They are the smallest creatures found in The Wind Waker, and are completely harmless. If Link gets too close to one, it will scatter and disappear into the ground, then resurface once Link is no longer nearby. Crabs are found throughout the beaches of the Great Sea, but are very common on Outset Island.

Breath of the Wild

In Breath of the Wild, three varieties of Crabs appear throughout Hyrule. These types are the Ironshell Crab, the Razorclaw Crab, and the Bright-Eyed Crab. They are commonly found throughout Necluda, but can be found on mostly all beaches and rivers in Hyrule. They can be used in Cooking to grant different effects to Link depending on the Crab used in the dish. Ironshell Crabs will raise defense when cooked in a meal, Razorclaw Crabs will raise attack when cooked in a meal, and Bright-Eyed Crabs will restore Stamina when cooked in a meal. Crabs can also be eaten raw to restore one of Link's Hearts.

Crabs of any variety are necessary for cooking certain Food items:
