Great Goddess Statues are recurring characters in The Legend of Zelda series.[1] Great Goddess Statues go unnamed in Breath of the Wild.

Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

Great Goddess Statues are larger variation of the standard Goddess Statue. They are functionally the same as regular Goddess Statues, offering to exchange four Spirit Orbs for a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel.[2]

When Link speaks to the Great Goddess Statues at the Spring of Courage or the the Spring of Power, it will instruct him to offer the scale of its respective Dragon.[3][4] Doing so will unlock the path to an Ancient Shrine. At the Spring of Wisdom, the Spring of Wisdom Statue will instruct him to free Naydra from the Malice that has corrupted it.[5]

Great Goddess Statues are unique Goddess Statues known for their immense size.[6] Like typical Goddess Statues, they are able to exchange four Lights of Blessing for a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel. They also accept four Sage's Wills to deepen the vow of a Sage.

As part of the "A Picture for Riverside Stable" Side Quest, Ember wants to display a Picture of a Great Goddess Statue at Riverside Stable, but he has been unable to find one.[6] If Link takes a Picture of a Great Goddess Statue and shows it to him, he will be able to create the Picture of a Great Goddess Statue.[7]

Oh, and if you're not already aware, the "great" in the name refers to how BIG these statues are. They're quietly enshrined throughout Hyrule, but not many people know their exact locations... The closest Great Goddess Statue to us allegedly stands in a temple southwest of Hyrule Field. But all my search attempts have come up empty. Maybe it's somewhere that's difficult to get to by horse..." — Ember (Tears of the Kingdom)
  7. "I knew it! It's perfect for this stable! And it's all thanks to you, Link! It's a real blessing, having an image of a Great Goddess Statue watching over us. Towering over us, really!" — Ember (Tears of the Kingdom)
