The Ancient Soldier Gear is an {{Term|BotW|Armor Set|link}} consisting of the {{Term|BotW|Ancient Helm|link}}, {{Term|BotW|Ancient Cuirass|link}}, and {{Term|BotW|Ancient Greaves|link}}. Each piece of the Ancient Soldier Gear set can be purchased at the {{Term|BotW|Akkala Ancient Tech Lab|link}} where {{Term|BotW|Cherry|link}} will construct them from various ancient materials.

Each piece of the Ancient Soldier Gear set reduces the damage taken from Guardians and weapons with the Ancient Technology property. Wearing the set provides the Ancient Proficiency set bonus, which increases damage from all ancient weapons by 80%. In addition to its useful bonuses, the armor has a very high defense level, on par with the {{Term|BotW|Soldier's Set|link}}.

The Ancient Soldier Gear is a recurring set of Items in The Legend of Zelda series.[1]

Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

Ancient Soldier Gear was created as a result of extensive research done by Robbie into the Ancient Technology of the Sheikah. It is distinguished by glowing blue features that vanish when the Weapons are stored and appear when they are drawn, which possess much higher cutting and piercing power than metal blades.[2][3][4] This composition leads them to deal extra damage when they are used against Guardians.

Ancient Soldier Gear is produced at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab by the Ancient Oven, which is a modified Guidance Stone created by Robbie for this purpose.[5] However, this function is not accessible at first due to the Furnace outside the Lab becoming extinguished, requiring it to be lit again with the Blue Flame.[6][7] Once this is done, Rupees and Ancient Materials can be exchanged with the Ancient Oven for Weapons, Bows, and Shields, in addition to parts of the Ancient Set of Armor.[8]

Ancient Soldier Gear is made out of non-metallic Ancient Technology. This means that that do not burn when exposed to Fire or a Scorching Climate, nor can they attract Lightning during Thunderstorms or conduct Electricity. They will float if they are dropped in Water, but they cannot be picked up or manipulated with the Magnesis Rune.
