Features and Overview

Fishman's Commenthide ▲
Fishman says:

You should come around these parts on nights when just a wee bit of the left half of the moon is missing.

...That's when IT appears, fry!

Tingle's Commenthide ▲
Tingle says:

Greatfish Isle should be over there. It used to be such a lovely island...

Greatfish Isle is an island of the Great Sea in The Wind Waker. Once the location of a peaceful village of Hyruleans and Jabun, it is now a horrific wreck after being demolished by Ganondorf and inflicted with Ganon's Curse. Jabun fled the island and headed for Outset Island. Now, the only residents are a Traveling Merchant and the Korok Linder.

Despite its destruction, the island still holds two Pieces of Heart, and is one of the recurring destinations of the Ghost Ship. One of the Pieces of Heart can be found in a small indent by flying with the Deku Leaf directly northwest from the small spiral island chunk atop where the Korok rests. The other Heart Piece is given to Link from the Merchant in exchange for the Shop Guru Statue.

Like Dragon Roost Island, the island, when Link hasn't received Nayru's Pearl, has a spinning ring cloud above.

Beneath the waves is a fragment of the Triforce, available after finding and opening the Triforce Chart from the Islet of Steel (which is located one square south).

Before the Great Flood, Greatfish Isle was Lake Hylia.[5]

Other Appearances

Hyrule Warriors Legends

Greatfish Isle is a pair of tiles in the Great Sea and Master Wind Waker Maps, divided into a western and eastern half.[2][6] Its western half is located two tiles to the right of the left-center edge of the maps. In the Great Sea Map, Greatfish Isle's western half contains a Challenge Battle with a Heart Container for Young Link and its eastern half contains an Adventure Battle that unlocks the second tier of Ruto's Zora Scale, the Golden Scale. In the Master Wind Waker Map, the west half contains an Adventure Battle that requires Wizzro to be used, and the eastern half contains the second tier of Medli's Rito Harp, the Earth God's Harp.
