Padda is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[2][3]
Biography
Breath of the Wild
Padda is a Gerudo Soldier who can be found in the Palace Courtyard. Her duty is to care of Riju's Sand Seal, Patricia.[4] In addition to this, she also watches out for Riju while she is in Gerudo Town, and she worries whenever she leaves.[5] She carries a Gerudo Shield and a Moonlight Scimitar.
The first time Link speaks to Padda, she introduces Patricia as Riju's favorite Sand Seal, and she explains that Patricia is an oracle who offers wisdom in return for Fruit.[6] If Link speaks to her again, she recalls that Riju used to visit everyday, but as of late, she has been too busy to allow herself to relax.[7] Padda then apologizes for rambling on and encourages Link to offer Fruit to Patricia.[8] While Patricia likes all types of Fruit, Padda reveals that she likes Wildberries the best.[9]
Padda has the ability to communicate with Patricia and understand her divine messages.[10] When Link offers Fruits to Patricia, Padda will translate her responses for him. If Patricia does not like the Fruit, Padda will relay her message as "Seal the deal on your fortune by using more valuable fruit!" and comment that she could not avoid using Patricia's Seal pun.[11] If Patricia likes the Fruit, Padda will translate for her, which includes information on Sand Seals,[12] Sand Boots and Snow Boots,[13] Heat,[14] Molduga,[15] Farosh,[16] the Statue of the Eighth Heroine,[17] and Tera's Great Fairy Fountain.[18] After every translation, Padda thanks Patricia for her wisdom.[19]
After Link calms Divine Beast Vah Naboris, Padda reveals that she can feel the stress lifting from Gerudo Town, which she is sure Riju feels as well.[20] When Riju is sitting in the courtyard, Padda tells Link to behave.[21] However, she only asks this because Riju has returned to her regular self, and Padda wants to protect her happiness.[22] She then reminds Link that he can offer Fruits to Patricia to hear wisdom, even though Riju is present.[23]

- Padda is one of several characters that will hit Link back if he attacks them with a Weapon.[24][25][26] These attacks deal no damage.
