Lukan is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Biography

Breath of the Wild

Lukan is Gerudo who can be found traveling throughout the Region of Gerudo. In particular, she travels between Gerudo Town and the Gerudo Canyon Stable, stopping at Kara Kara Bazaar along the way. She carries a Gerudo Shield and a Gerudo Scimitar.

When Link first meets Lukan, she notes that he looks like a regular traveler, but she is unsure.[3] Lukan admits that she is a Gerudo Soldier in disguise as a Merchant.[4] Asking Link if he has heard of the Yiga Clan, Lukan explains that they have been causing trouble in Gerudo Town, and some of them have disguised as travelers to ambush people.[5][6] The reason that Lukan herself is disguised is so she can catch them when they try to attack her.[7] She believes that, since they were bold enough to infiltrate Gerudo Town, they will likely strike travelers as well.[8]

If Link speaks to Lukan at the Gerudo Canyon Stable, she says that the Yiga Clan is bound to attack if anyone at the Stable lets their guard down.[9] Lukan will spend her time carefully watching for suspicious people who may be Yiga Clan.[10][11] Sometimes, Lukan be found sitting inside the Stable, though she claims that it is a bad place to rest due to the danger of the Yiga Clan.[12]

As the day breaks, Lukan notices that the Heat is starting to increase.[13] During the day, she remarks that it is "broiling."[14] In the evening, she will be relieved that the weather is cooler.[15] At night, she comments on how cold it is.[16]

In the Gerudo Desert, Lukan tells Link not to go near the Divine Beast Vah Naboris, or else he will be struck by its Lightning.[17][18] She then proclaims that the Gerudo know better than to go near the Divine Beast.[19] Lukan has heard that Riju, the chief of the Gerudo, might be doing something about Naboris, but that it is still smart to stay away until then.[20] Lukan also tells Link that Naboris has caused many problems since it showed up.[21] She continues to say that everyone avoids the Divine Beast, and she tells Link should get somewhere safe before its Lightning strikes him.[22][23] If Link speaks to Lukan again, she is surprised that he is still there, saying not to blame her if he is struck by Lightning.[24][25]

After the "Divine Beast Vah Naboris" Main Quest has been completed, Lukan informs Link that the Gerudo Desert is still dangerous.[26] She tells him to make sure he is well-equipped before he journeys the Desert.[27] She also warns Link about the dangers of sandstorms in the Gerudo Desert, and she tells him to avoid them if he values his life.[28][29]

If Link speaks to Lukan at the Kara Kara Bazaar or Gerudo Town, she claims that she has been watching her surroundings and that there is no one suspicious in the area.[30] In Gerudo Town, she is paranoid that the last of the Yiga Clan could attack at any moment.[31][32] She will also tell Link that the Gerudo soldiers have been working to root out all surviving Yiga Clan members, and she is doing her part as well.[33]

When Lukan is attacked by enemies while traveling, she will draw her Gerudo Scimitar to defend herself.[34] If Link saves her, she will thank him.[35] As a reward, she will give Link Chilly Mushroom Risotto.[36]
