The Arms of the Seven,(TotK)[1] also known as the Champion's Arms,(BotW)[2] are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series. The Arms of the Seven go unnamed in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

The Champion's Arms refer to the Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker. Both pieces belong to the Gerudo Gear archetype.[3] They were originally wielded by Urbosa prior to the Great Calamity 100 years ago. After she was killed by Thunderblight Ganon, the Arms became heirlooms to the Gerudo, and they eventually ended up in the possession of Riju.[4] During the "Champion Urbosa's Song" Recovered Memory, Urbosa uses her Champion's Arms to defend Princess Zelda against a pair of Yiga Footsoldiers.

When Link returns to Gerudo Town after reclaiming Divine Beast Vah Naboris, Riju gives him the Champion's Arms as a reward for saving the Gerudo.[4] If either the Scimitar of the Seven or the Daybreaker are ever broken, Buliara will be able to create new ones for Link.[5][6]

Tears of the Kingdom

In Tears of the Kingdom, it is revealed that the Arms of the Seven can only be created for chosen individuals.[1] Sometime prior to the start of the Upheaval, Isha chose to make the Arms for Riju.[7] An ancestor of hers was also responsible of making those that belonged to Urbosa.[8] In addition, the former Sage of Lightning can be seen wielding the Arms of the Seven during flashbacks to the Imprisoning War. According to Isha, the Arms of the Seven create a bond with their owner, and they can only be remade if it is impossible to recover them.[9]

As part of the "Pride of the Gerudo" Side Quest, Isha chooses to make a new set of Arms of the Seven for Link.[1] She tasks Link with gathering the supplies to create the Arms, since that is the responsibility of the one who will wield them.[10] Once Link brings her the Materials, she will be able to make the Arms for him.[11][12] Should Link break either the Scimitar of the Seven or the Daybreaker, Isha will be able to make a new one for him.[13]

They are a sword and shield passed down by the Gerudo, and they can only be wielded by a chosen individual. I'm talking about the Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker, of course. They're crafted using a special technique known only to me. And I...have chosen you to carry them. Will you let me make the arms of the Seven for you?" — Isha (Tears of the Kingdom)

They were once worn by Lady Urbosa. Since you and Lady Urbosa were friends, it's only right that you have them." — Riju (Breath of the Wild)

  9. "Hm... That's strange... It appears that both the Daybreaker and the Scimitar of the Seven are not irretrievably lost. The arms of the Seven form a bond with their owner, you see. That bond is only broken when their recovery is impossible. Then, and only then, can they be remade." — Isha (Tears of the Kingdom)
  10. "[Yes, please.] That's the spirit! OK then, I just need you to gather some materials for me. Can you do that? Truth be told, I'd like to gather the materials for you myself, but it is the duty of the bearer of the arms to do that. I need four diamonds, 10 pieces of flint... a Gerudo scimitar, and a Gerudo shield. Even a decayed Gerudo scimitar will do the trick! OK then...once you've gathered all of those materials together, come and talk to me, OK?" — Isha (Tears of the Kingdom)
  11. "[Let's get to crafting!] OK then, let me just make sure you have everything I'll need... Four diamonds, 10 pieces of flint... a Gerudo scimitar, and a Gerudo shield. Heehee! I knew you could do it. This is everything I need to get to work! Give me just a minute..." — Isha (Tears of the Kingdom)
  12. "I poured all of my heart into making these. Here, take them. They are a true symbol of gratitude of the Gerudo." — Isha (Tears of the Kingdom)
  13. "That really just goes to show how amazing they are. It'll make me happy if you take good care of them. But I did make them to be used, so don't feel like you need to preserve them... Should they ever be irretrievably lost, just bring me the materials again and I'll remake them for you." — Isha (Tears of the Kingdom)
