Atmus is a character in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Atmus is a Hylian who works in Lookout Landing. He can be found in front of the large Map in the Emergency Shelter, where he helps manage the deployment of the Monster-Control Crew.[2] He is an expert in Hyrule's geography, including the different peoples and settlements.[3][4]

When Link first approaches Atmus, he apologizes for not noticing him sooner, since he tends to focus on his Map.[5] He then asks Link if he is interested in his research, explaining that it comes from examining Maps while out with the Monster-Control Crew.[6] If Link asks about the peoples of Hyrule, Atmus reveals that they are the Hylians, the Rito, the Gorons, the Zora, and the Gerudo, all of whom live in their own Region and bear unique traits.[7] He also mentions the Sheikah, who are known for their wisdom.[8] Should Link ask about the settlements of Hyrule, Atmus uses his Map point out Lookout Landing, Rito Village, Gerudo Town, Goron City, Tarrey Town, Zora's Domain, Kakariko Village, Hateno Village, and Lurelin Village.[9] He then reveals that many of them have been suffering the effects of the Upheaval, and he hopes that the Monster-Control Crew will be able to help them.[10] Lastly, if Link asks about Atmus himself, Atmus explains that since he is not skilled with combat, he helps the Monster-Control Crew figure out where they should be deployed.[2] At the end of their conversation, Atmus warns Link about new types of Monsters that have been sighted.[11]

Travel a bit farther east, and you'll come across Tarrey Town in Akkala. Not too far from there is Zora's Domain. That's within the Lanayru region. Continuing into southeast Hyrule, you'll come across a cluster of Hylian villages. These are within an area called Necluda. Within that cluster, you'll find Kakariko Village, where the Sheikah live. It's a wonderful getaway destination." — Atmus (Tears of the Kingdom)

  11. "[Goodbye.] There's been an increase in the number of unfamiliar monsters since the Upheaval, as well. Be careful out there." — Atmus (Tears of the Kingdom)
