The Desert Zone is a Level in Tri Force Heroes.[1] It is the sixth proper Level of the Den of Trials, preceded by the Fortified Zone and followed by the Shadow Zone.

Features and Overview

Items Materials
Gripshot or or
Gust Jar or or
Water Rod

The Desert Zone comprises Floors B26 to B30 of the Den of Trials, and it is based on the scenery and Enemies of The Dunes, an Area of the Drablands. It is initially unlocked and accessed by completing the prior Fortified Zone; if all three Links have already unlocked the Desert Zone, they can access it directly by standing on the sixth Triforce Gateway in the Den's hub Level.

Each Floor of the Desert Zone is a Quicksand-covered octagonal platform, with sections of stone ground in the south corner where the Links appear, and in the north corner where the Triforce Gateway appears when all Enemies are defeated, as well as small patches of solid ground in the east and west corners and the center of the stage. Floor B26 provides the Links with a Gripshot, a Gust Jar, and a Water Rod; the Enemies appear once all three Items have been claimed. The two Karat Crabs on this Floor are initially hiding inside Sand Mounds, and will need to be uncovered with either the Gust Jar or Water Rod before they can be attacked. Should any of the Links use their Items while standing on Quicksand, the delay will likely cause them to be pulled under, necessitating that they remain on solid ground when using an Item.

Floor B27 is the only Floor to feature a wall around its edges, which causes the body segments of the Hokkubokku to bounce around the stage once struck. The four Life Likes on this Floor are all disguised as Hearts until any of the Links approach them. A Bomb Flower is provided on the northern stone ground to help defeat the Life Likes, as are a pair of Beanstalks on the east and west patches of ground that will grow into Bomb Flowers once the Water Rod is used on them. The four Morths on Floor B28 will continually respawn shortly after being dispatched, but will disappear permanently once all other Enemies on the Floor are defeated. Floor B29 features two waves of Enemies, the second of which includes several dark Stalfos riding on Totem Armos. These dark Stalfos can throw bones like the Red Stalfos, which will curse any Link they hit as well as dealing damage.

Floor B30 is a safe room with three large Treasure Chests and a Squiddy for regaining Hearts. Two of the Chests contain the same random, bronze-rarity Material from The Dunes (Palm Cones, Ancient Fins or Vintage Linens) and the other contains a random, silver-rarity Material (Gibdo Bandage, Stal Skull or Sandy Ribbon). Once the Chests are opened, the Links' progress is Saved; the Triforce Gateway leading to the Shadow Zone and a small Treasure Chest containing an extra Fairy then appear.
