Aerocudas are enemies in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Characteristics
Aerocudas are yellow, dark-spotted, winged enemies resembling wyverns. They have red eyes, a short snout, a pair of long, thin horns resembling antennae, a pair of wings with light orange membranes and dark spotting along their upper portions, and a tail with a pair of small, wing-like structures at its tip. They are capable of making high-pitched screeches that alert other nearby Enemies to Link's presence.
Upon sighting Link, they will fly after him, occasionally attempting to charge into him. They are also able to carry other enemies such as Bokoblins and Moblins in their talons in a manner similar to Kargaroks. While swift, a single Arrow from most Bows will dispatch them. Some Aerocudas may carry Treasure Chests; these will not attack Link and will focus on keeping their cargo out of his reach. Aerocudas drown when knocked into deep Water, flailing their wings struggling to get back into the air.
Nomenclature
"Aerocuda" is likely derived from the prefix "aero-", a Greek prefix for air or flight, and "barracuda", a species of predatory fish known for their speed.
