Toadpolis were enemies in [[The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess]] that many beleived to be Octoroks in the gameThey appear very rarely in only a few placesWhere they can be found include early on in the [[Goron Mines]] dungeon and behind the [[Lake Hylia]] [[Howling Stone]]. They appear as frogs but act very similarly to an [[Octorok]] in previous 3d Zelda games. Larger versions of these monsters can be seen swimming underwater like fish in the [[Goron Mines]].

They also bear an appearance and similar attacks as [[Zola]]s in the Original Legend of Zelda, and Link's Awakening. Also they bear a resemblance to the [[Deku Frog]]. It is possible that they are it's offspring after they go throught the tadpole stage.

Toadpolis are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Characteristics

Toadpolis are armored, two-legged Frogs-like enemies that are found in watery areas, swimming in Water. They act very similarly to Octoroks. They spit projectiles at Link which he can slice with his Sword or deflect them back, defeating the Toadpolis. If Link comes too close to them, they dive back under the Water.

Toadpolis grow into Deku Toads after a thousand years.[3]

In Link's Crossbow Training, Toadpolis appear in the "Zora River: Defender" Stage. The swim in the Zora's River and surface to spit projectiles at Link.

Nomenclature

Their name may be a combination of the word "Toad" and the word "Polliwog," which is a synonym for "Tadpole".
