Golden Fish are Items in Cadence of Hyrule.[1]

Location and Uses

Golden Fish are rare items that can only be acquired by using an Bottle over any tile of bubbling Water found throughout Hyrule, including bubbling Water found inside Caves and Dungeons. Therefore, they act as an alternative method for recovering Hearts and Stamina.[2]

Unlike bottled Fairies and potions, Golden Fish are not automatically consumed when Cadence, Link, Yves, or Zelda run out of Hearts or Stamina, and therefore must be manually activated in order to receive their healing benefits.

A Fisherman in the River of Ice can be found Fishing for Golden Fish. He offers the heroes a reward if they bring one to him.[3] He advises them to use Bottles to Fish.[4] If the heroes bring a Golden Fish to the Fisherman, he expresses shock and reveals that he did not think it possible to catch one with only an Bottle.[5] He requests that they give the Fish to him.[6] If they refuse, he begs them to reconsider and give it to him, telling them that he has long dreamed of tasting a delicious Golden Fish.[7] When given the Fish, the Fisherman eagerly eats it, describing the taste as being fishy.[8] He concludes that the taste was not what he was hoping for, but nevertheless offers them the Mask of Truth out of gratitude.[9][10]
