Hyrule Compendium Entry
Hearty Bass are a type of Fish that can be found in the waters of West Necluda and the Akkala Highlands. Schools of Hearty Bass can be found in ponds located on Firly Plateau and Mount Rhoam. Their large bodies are able to store a lot of nutrients.[1] Exposing Hyrule Bass to Fire results in Roasted Hearty Basses, while chilling it with Ice results in Frozen Hearty Basses. They can be eaten raw to heal two Hearts. Meals made using Hearty Bass will grant Link temporary Hearts in his Life Gauge when eaten.[1]
Hearty Bass are among the Fish that can be used to cook a Fish Skewer, a Fish and Mushroom Skewer, and Salt-Grilled Fish. They're also counted among the seafood that can be used to make Fish Pie, Creamy Seafood Soup, Copious Fish Skewers, Glazed Seafood, Gourmet Meat and Seafood Fry, Meat and Seafood Fry, Monster Stew, Pepper Seafood, Prime Meat and Seafood Fry, Seafood Meunière, Seafood Rice Balls, and Steamed Fish.
In order to upgrade the Zora Set to its third tier at a Great Fairy Fountain, Link needs to collect five Hearty Bass for each piece.
