Blizzard Rods are one-handed Weapons. They are superior counterparts to Ice Rods, crafted from refined Ice found at the summit of Hebra Peak.[1] Blizzard Rods are most commonly wielded by Blizzrobes.

Blizzard Rods are imbued with Ice elemental energy, generating three flurries of Ice when swung. However, Blizzard Rods are fragile and will break easily if they make direct contact with Objects or Enemies. Blizzard Rods will also break simply from extended use.[1] If Link executes a Spin Attack while wielding a Blizzard Rod, he will loose eight blasts at once in different directions. They also provide one level of Heat Resistance, though they have no effect in Scorching Climates. When thrown with the R Button, Blizzard Rods will not leave Link's hand, and they will instead produce three flurries of Ice that will advance in the direction they are thrown. Blizzard Rods will temporarily lose their magical properties if used excessively, requiring a brief cooldown period before they can be used again.

When Link speaks to Kula in the Korok Forest, he will ask to be shown a "rod with the power of ice," which he describes as having the power to freeze Monsters.[2] After listening to him, Link will receive the "A Freezing Rod" Side Quest. If Link brings a Blizzard Rod to Kula, he will be amazed by how it sparkles.[3] As a reward, Kula will give Link a Gold Rupee.[4]

Blizzard Rods are not made of flammable materials and thus can safely be used around open Flames or Scorching Climates. Blizzard Rods are also not made of magnetic materials and cannot be manipulated with Magnesis. Blizzard Rods do not conduct Lightning during Thunderstorms, and they will float in sufficiently deep bodies of Water.
