Template:Character Rosso is a character in A Link Between Worlds.

Biography

Rosso is a miner that lives north of Kakariko Village at the base of Death Mountain and owns Rosso's Ore Mine at the top of Death Mountain. He gives Link the Power Gloves after noticing that the young hero cannot lift rocks. If Link picks up all of the rocks around Rosso's house, he will reward the young hero with Rupees. Rosso goes missing while on a mining expedition, having been kidnapped by Yuga and turned into a Painting. When the Seven Sages' Paintings are scattered across Lorule, Rosso's Painting is sent to the Ice Ruins, on the eastern side of Lorule's Death Mountain.

After Link rescues him from the Ice Ruins, Rosso reveals that he always knew of his status as a Sage, but he always thought it inconsequential, as he was too busy mining rocks.[1] Afterwards, he tells Link that he simply wants to return to cracking rocks.[2]

Theories

Ancestry

Due to his bulky physique, black eyes, and the Goron symbol on his belt, some speculate that Rosso is descended from Darunia. He could therefore be a Sage of Fire.

  1. "Well, just look at this. Who would have thought I'd see YOU here, Link? Not all that surprised to see me here though. I've know for a long time that I was a Sage. Never told anyone though. It wasn't really a secret. I was just too busy mining all the time to mention it. Speaking of busy--you've still got some work to do here. Find the rest of the Seven Sages, OK? If you do, you'll be all the stronger, Link." — Rosso (A Link Between Worlds)
  2. "Can't say I care much about all this Demon King business. I just want to get home and crack some rocks. So find the rest of the Seven Sages already. I'm going to go nuts if I'm cooped up here for much longer." — Rosso (A Link Between Worlds)
