Molli is a character in Breath of the Wild.[3]

Biography

Molli is a young Rito child who lives in Rito Village. She is the daughter of Harth, and since she is close in age to Tulin, their families spend a lot of time together.[1] During the day, she sits on a ledge on the north end of the Village. At night, she sleeps in the House that she shares with her father.

When Link approaches Molli, he will find her talking about a Bird.[4] If spoken to, she asks Link if he wants to hear a story.[5] Should Link state that he loves stories, Molli reveals that she does as well.[6] Her story begins with her Grandpa stopping at a big Cedar Tree on top of a mountain and looking to the northwest.[7] When he did so, he saw a huge white Bird, which he started flying towards.[8] Drawing close to the Bird, he saw something in its stomach.[9]

When Link prompts Molli to reveal what the Bird swallowed, Molli admits that she gets tired during this part of the story and does not remember.[10] However, she states that she knows the location of the Cedar Tree where her Grandpa stopped.[11] She points out the cedar Cedar Tree on Talonto Peak.[12] Molli tries to recall what the Bird swallowed, and she laments not being able to hear the story from her grandfather.[13] After this, "The Bird in the Mountains" Shrine Quest will begin.

If Link speaks to Molli while the Shrine Quest is active, she asks if he wants to hear the story again.[14] If Link agrees, Molli will repeat the story for him. Afterwards, Molli resolves to find out for herself what the Bird swallowed when she grows up.[15]

After locating Mozo Shenno Shrine and completing the Shrine Quest, Link can return to Rito Village to share his findings with Molli.[16] When Link reveals that he found an Ancient Shrine, Molli is shocked to hear that the Bird was actually the Biron Snowshelf in the Hebra Mountains.[17] She then recalls that her Grandpa was always a prankster.[18]

When Link speaks to Molli again, she will thank Link for helping her rediscover the ending to her Grandpa's story.[19] Now, she is capable of reciting the entire story on her own, and she asks Link if he would like to hear it.[2] At the end of her story, Molli reveals that her Grandpa saw an Ancient Shrine in the Bird's stomach.[20] She then describes how the hero who found the Shrine defeated the bad guys and saved the princess, living happily ever after.[21] Following this, Molli is proud to have told the story all by herself.[22]

If Link speaks to Molli while she is walking to her ledge, she tells him that she is busy.[23] Despite this, she promises to tell him a story if he follows her.[24] If Link speaks to Molli while she is returning to her House for the night, she says that it is time for her to go to sleep and invites Link to talk later.[25][26] Finally, if Link wakes Molli up while she is sleeping in her hammock, she asks Link if he is going to say "good morning" to her.[27] If Link chooses to do so, Molli states that she is not ready to say it yet.[28] If Link refuses, Molli says that she is tired.[29]
