Yiga Blademasters are recurring Enemies and Bosses in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3]

Description
These are the elite soldiers of the Yiga Clan. They favor the windcleaver blade and are extremely agile despite their bulky build. At this Yiga Clan rank, they have mastered a technique that allows them to manipulate the very earth. By striking the ground, they can create stone pillars and blasts of air.

Yiga Blademasters are the elite soldiers of the Yiga Clan.[4] They can be found patrolling the Yiga Clan Hideout, and if they spot Link in the hideout, they will close all doors and exits while calling in back up. After Master Kohga is defeated, they will also start appearing randomly to attack Link.

Yiga Blademasters attack with Windcleavers that send blasts of air at long distances. They can also use the Earthwake technique create fissures in the ground, which produce Updrafts that Link can use to Glide before a stone pillar emerges from them.[4] A shot to the head with the Bow can stun Yiga Blademasters, opening them for attacks. When defeated, they flee, leaving behind their Windcleaver and Mighty Bananas.

During the Side Quest "The Stolen Heirloom", Link must defeat a Yiga Blademaster in order to retrieve the Sheikah Heirloom that grants access to the Lakna Rokee Shrine.[5]

Tears of the Kingdom

Yiga Blademasters reappear in Tears of the Kingdom, acting similarly to how they did in Breath of the Wild. They now wield Eightfold Longblades with visible Gloom markings rather than Windcleavers. They can disguise themselves as Trees. If Link is wearing the Yiga Clan Attire, he is able to speak to Yiga Blademasters without being attacked. In addition, they are mentioned to be the overseers of the Yiga Clan's Depths operations.[citation needed]

Non-Canon Information

Yiga Blademasters appear in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity as Coliseum Receptionist ranked enemies. They fight the same way as in Breath of the Wild, though their Weak Point Gauges can be exploited with Sheikah Runes. They also speak, similar to the Yiga Footsoldiers, in instances such as when they are defeated in battle.[6] After Astor uses the souls of some Yiga Footsoldiers to revive the four blights, Master Kohga and Sooga turn against him. The rest of the Yiga Clan then follow suit, using the Hyrulean Army to exact vengeance on Astor.
