Location and Uses

The two Golden Dayflies—one male and one female—are one of the twelve pairs of Golden Bugs found throughout Hyrule. Both are located in the southern portion of Gerudo Desert and can be collected during Link's first visit to the area. The male Dayfly can be found fluttering in the sand approximately halfway to the westEast in the Wii version. end of the Desert, and a short walk south of the crescent-shaped rock platform where a small Treasure Chest contains ten Arrows. The female Dayfly is found approximately three quarters of the way across the Desert, near the structures which feature an Owl Statue. Just north of these structures are three parallel trenches; the Golden Dayfly is on the wall of the middle trench.

The Golden Dayflies can be given to Agitha in exchange for Rupees (50 for the first, 100 for the second) or, depending on the total number of Golden Bugs given, the Big Wallet, the Giant Wallet, or Agitha's Miiverse Stamp in Twilight Princess HD. After being collected, a Golden Dayfly will reappear in its original spot; if collected a second time, it will drop a Heart as Link lets it go.
