Southern Oasis Training Area
The Southern Oasis Training Area is a location in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Features and Overview
The Southern Oasis Training Area can be found directly southwest of the Southern Oasis in the Gerudo Desert. It was founded by Riju after Zelda suggested the Gerudo Soldiers become more in touch with the Desert.[2] Following the closure of the Lookout Post, Sudrey was placed in charge of the Training Area.[3] As a result of the Sand Shroud over the Gerudo Desert, however, the Gerudo Soldiers have been unable to access the Southern Oasis Training Area.[4]
During the Sand Shroud, Link can find Teake and Sudrey arguing about reopening the Southern Oasis Training Area.[5] Sudrey claims that it is important that the Training Area be reopened, but Teake believes it is important not to underestimate the danger of the Gerudo Desert.[6] After the "Riju of Gerudo Town" Main Quest has been completed, Sudrey returns to the Southern Oasis Training Area. She begins to operate the Desert Race Mini-Game, which Link is able to participate in.

[A training regimen?] I've only heard about it secondhand, but the guards have been training hard to improve their desert mobility. You seem, some time ago, right when Lady Riju had become chief... Gerudo Town faced a major crisis. After it was resolved, Lady Riju swore that our military forces would be prepared to face any new threats that came along. Unfortunately, that was a tougher task than anyone though. Luckily, Lady Riju's close friend Princess Zelda came to visit. The princess suggested that the Gerudo learn to be more in touch with the desert itself. This inspired Lady Riju, and she proposed a new training regimen. At least, that's what I heard. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have helped against those Gibdo things.

Today is my last day in the lookout post. I'm a bit sad saying goodbye to this place. But! I've been asked to supervise the new training area being built at the Southern Oasis. I feel honored to be trusted with helping our soldiers. It's a direct way to help keep the desert safe... I've learned a lot from watching over the desert here—it's time to put it to use by teaching others what I know!
