Locations and Uses

A Link to the Past

Stakes appear in the Stake Garden. They can be pressed down with the Magic Hammer. When all 22 Stakes in the Stake Garden are pressed, they reveal a Cave containing a Piece of Heart.

Breath of the Wild

Stakes are a type of Switch made from Sheikah Ancient Technology. They require a great amount of force to activate, which can be done by striking them with Boulders or other heavy Objects. Stakes typically glow orange, but once they have been pressed, they will glow blue instead. The bases of Stakes are marked by Sheikah text that says "STAKESWITCH".[2]

They can be found in the Dunba Taag Shrine of Tanagar Canyon, the Gee Ha'rah Shrine of Kopeeki Drifts, and inside Divine Beast Vah Medoh.

Tears of the Kingdom

A Stake in Zonai Capsule form

Stakes are Zonai Devices that have semi-solid bodies which, when used with Ultrahand, can merge into surfaces to anchor other objects onto those surfaces. They can be found inside Shrines of Light as well as on the ground on the Surface, in the Sky, or in the Depths. They can also be received in Zonai Capsule form from Device Dispensers. Stakes can only be stuck onto surfaces that Link can not manipulate with Ultrahand, such as terrain and buildings.
