Force Gem 17 is an Item in Spirit Tracks.[1]

Location and Uses

Force Gem 17 is an optional Force Gem that can be obtained after Link completes the Fire Temple then obtains Force Gem 16, which allows him to travel to the Pirate Hideout. There, after Link rescues Wadatsumi from the Pirates and escapes on a Mine Cart, the former captive asks Link to drive him home to Papuchia Village to be with his female companion.[2][3] Once they arrive after a short trip south on the Spirit Train, Wadatsumi thanks Link by producing Force Gem 17,[4] then heads straight to Orca's house.[5] Link automatically follows him there to witness the reunion, where it turns out the pair were only ever friends, and Orca is bothered that Wadatsumi imagines otherwise.[6][7] Furthermore, if Link has obtained Force Gem 2, then Orca will already be married to Dovok at this time,[8] making the encounter a bit more heated.[9]

The Spirit Tracks created by Force Gem 17

Force Gem 17 creates two new sections of Spirit Tracks in the Ocean Realm—one going north from the Ocean Sanctuary, and one going east from the Pirate Hideout—which act as shortcuts to the area of tracks around the Ocean Floor entrance. The new tracks near the Pirate Hideout pass under Warp Gate G, which transports the Spirit Train to Whittleton, and allow access to Ocean Rabbit 9.
