Description
A shield once used by the guards of Hyrule Castle. It's easy to handle, but its core is made of wood, so it can catch fire.
Common Locations
Tabantha Frontier
Hyrule Field
Properties
Def 16

Soldier's Shields are mid-grade Shield known to have once been used by the guards of Hyrule Castle.[1] They boast a moderately high defense rating as well as a decent durability. They can be found almost anywhere throughout Hyrule, though easy spots include Snowfield Stable in Tabantha Frontier and Selmie's Spot. One is also sold by Russ in Trilby Plain for shield surfing.

Despite their appearance, Soldier's Shields have a core made of wood, and therefore can catch on fire.[1] In addition, the Magnesis Rune won't work on them, and they won't attract Lightning during storms. Finally, they'll float if they're dropped in water.

A Soldier's Shield is automatically equipped by Link when he uses a Soldier's Broadsword as his Weapon.
