"Zelda's Resentment" is the fifth Recovered Memory in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Overview

"Zelda's Resentment" can be unlocked by visiting the Ancient Columns, which are located on the Tabantha Frontier. As part of the Main Quest "Captured Memories", Link is required to view this Recovered Memory.[2]

The Memory opens up with Zelda attempting to open the Tena Ko'sah Shrine by pressing the Sheikah Slate on the Sheikah Slate Terminal. When nothing happens, she comments that it is just as she thought.[3] She reasons that the Ancient Shrines were designed to only be used by the chosen hero of the Master Sword.[4] However, she also hopes that she will be able to work around this design.[5] Stepping away, Zelda wonders how to get inside and states she needs to activate the Shrine.[6]

Zelda's musings are interrupted by Link arriving on horseback. She becomes angry, storming past Link and reminding him she does not need an escort.[7] She further insults Link by claiming she is the only one of the two to have a mind of their own, and she tells Link that she is fine regardless of King Rhoam's orders.[8] She then commands him to return to Hyrule Castle and relay her thought to her father.[9] When Link tries to go with her, she turns and snaps at him to stop following her.[10]
