Boulder
Boulders,[1][2] also known as Rocks,(TLoZ)[3] and Huge Rocks,(TWW)[4] are recurring traps in The Legend of Zelda series.
Characteristics
Boulders are rocks that fall in random patterns when Link is traveling through certain mountainous regions of Hyrule, commonly appearing on Death Mountain. They can often be hard to predict and will inflict damage on Link if he comes in contact with them.
The Legend of Zelda
Boulders first appeared as rocks in The Legend of Zelda. These boulders fall from of Death Mountain.
A Link to the Past
In A Link to the Past, they appear on the lower western region of Death Mountain in the Light World. They are much larger and able to cause a whole Heart of damage. It is easier to travel further up the mountain by travelling through the caves to avoid them.
Link's Awakening
Boulders also appear similar to their original appearance in Link's Awakening on the east of Tal Tal Mountain Range, and Oracle of Ages on the Restoration Wall. Boulders are also used as weapons by the Stone Hinox in Link's Awakening DX when it slams the ground
Ocarina of Time
In Ocarina of Time, they also appear on Death Mountain, but instead of bouncing down the mountain, they roll down it once Link has become an adult. Boulders also appear in Gerudo Valley and certain dungeons. Sometimes they roll around areas such as Ganon's Castle.
Majora's Mask
In Majora's Mask, they behave like they do in Ocarina of Time when climbing the Stone Tower. A gray variant can be found in the Deku Shrine.
Oracle of Ages
Four Swords Adventures
In Four Swords Adventures, boulders appear on Death Mountain. They show up in caves where they can be pushed, where they also roll around and can be dropped into pits to make them safe to cross. Hinox in Four Swords Adventures throw massive boulders at the Links.
The Minish Cap
Template:Figurine In The Minish Cap, boulders appear notably on Mount Crenel and behave similar to their A Link to the Past incarnation.
Phantom Hourglass
Rolling boulders also appear on the Isle of Ruins in Phantom Hourglass
Spirit Tracks
Fire Sanctuary in Spirit Tracks.
A Link Between Worlds
Tri Force Heroes
In Tri Force Heroes, boulders sometimes roll down the path instead of Snowballs in the Level Snowball Ravine. Static varieties are found in other locations and can be pushed to solve puzzles like in Four Swords Adventures, or destroyed by Wrecker Phantoms.

Now, I'm certain that a little fairy dust would provide all the lift her spirits need, but... Well, the problem is, I haven't seen any fairies in these parts recently. Of course, long ago you could find a lot of them up by the old Fairy Fountain, and you could even capture them in empty bottles. Sure! It was easy as you please! Yes, there was a time when I used to like playing with fairies... Uh...ahem! In any case, ever since the fountain was blocked up by that huge rock, I haven't seen a one..." — Sturgeon (The Wind Waker HD)
