The East Passage is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

The East Passage is a sprawling cavern situated in the Hyrule Castle Underground. Inside the entrance of the Passage are Wooden Boxes and Barrels, which can be broken for supplies. Link can use a Mine Cart to traverse through the tunnel. Further along in the East Passage is a room containing a Cooking Pot.

A Stone Talus (Rare) can be found in the chamber where the rails end, beneath a vertical tunnel shaft.[3] If it is defeated, an Updraft will appear where it once rested, allowing easy travel up the shaft. The shaft itself continues into a tunnel leading north, connecting to a break in the southern wall of the first floor of the Library. However, this gap is filled by Malice connected to a Glowing Eyeball, which Link must defeat in order to progress further into Hyrule Castle.

Near the entrance of the East Passage, Link can find a stone Treasure Chest containing five Bomb Arrows. A ledge on the southern side of the shaft holds a Treasure Chest which contains a Shard of Farosh's Fang. Interspersed through the Passage are Ore Deposits and a Rare Ore Deposit.

One Korok Seed Puzzle can be found within the East Passage. If Link melts the Ice in the Water of the East Passage, he will uncover Leaves with Fairy Dust. When he interacts with them, a Korok will appear and reward him with a Korok Seed.[4]

Minor Enemies

Tears of the Kingdom

As in Breath of the Wild, the East Passage composes part of the Hyrule Castle Underground in Hyrule Field. Due to the Upheaval, it is now a dead-end.
