The Mini-Map,(BotW | TotK)[1][2] also known as the Minimap,(OoT | TP | HWAoC)[3][4][5] the Area Map,(TWW)[6] and the Mini Map,(HW)[7] is a recurring interface in The Legend of Zelda series.[name references needed] The Mini-Map goes unnamed in Majora's Mask.

Overview

Ocarina of Time

Majora's Mask

The Wind Waker

Twilight Princess

Skyward Sword

Breath of the Wild

The Mini-Map appears in the lower right corner of the HUD after Link exits the Shrine of Resurrection. It displays Map information within a radius surrounding Link, including icons that indicate points of interest.[8] By default, the Mini-Map will point in the direction that Link is facing, with an "N" icon appearing on the Map's outer edge to indicate which direction is north.[8] The Mini-Map's orientation can be fixed in place by accessing Options from the System menu.

Tears of the Kingdom

Link unlocks the Mini-Map after receiving the Purah Pad from a Steward Construct on the Great Sky Island. It functions the same as it does in Breath of the Wild, with several new additions. Map Coordinates appear on the lower edge of the Mini-Map, displaying Link's current position at all times. The Mini-Map will also automatically change its display as Link travels between the Sky, Surface, and Depths. If Link manually changes the view of his Map, the Mini-Map will continue to display at this level unless changed.

    The Great Map of Life

As one is often hasty and acts without thinking when young, it's easy to get lost on one's way.

It is at confused times such as this that one must refer to his or her Area Map in the lower-left.

The yellow arrow shows one's current location. Enlarge the map with D-PadArrow Right, or hide the map with D-PadArrow Left.

The Arrow Up in the top-right portion of the Area Map indicates wind direction. Always remember that the wind blows in the direction of the arrow. Always!
