Electric Darners can be found on Hyrule Ridge and in the Gerudo Desert. Beedle also sells them at Riverside Stable. They can be used with Monster Parts in a Cooking Pot to make an Electro Elixir, which will temporarily provide Shock Resistance to Link.[1] The Kochi Dye Shop accepts Electric Darners as an ingredient for Yellow Dye.
During the "Little Sister's Big Request" Side Quest, Link finds out that Gleema likes dragonflies, despite her sister's fear of them.[4] When Jana hears this, she asks Link to obtain an Electric Darner and other dragonflies for Gleema's birthday on her behalf.[5] Upon delivery, however, Jana will become disgusted by the dragonflies and asks Link to give them to Gleema for her.[6] Gleema will be excited about her dragonflies and rush to show Jana,[7] which causes her sister to shriek in terror.[8] Afterwards, she will give him a Silver Rupee as a reward.[9]
