Armored Porgies are saltwater fish that can be found in the waters of the Necluda Sea and Lanayru Sea. They're also sold by Mubs at the fish market in Lurelin Village. As is the case with other porgies, they can be chilled by Ice to make Frozen Porgies or burned by Fire to make Roasted Porgies. Link can eat one raw to restore one Heart to his Life Gauge. They have hard scales with a compound that, when cooked, will make a meal that will temporarily increase Link's defense.[1]

Either Armored Porgies or Mighty Porgies can be used in a Cooking Pot to make Porgy Meunière and Seafood Paella. Similarly, either porgy or a Hearty Blueshell Snail is needed to make Seafood Curry and Seafood Fried Rice. Armored Porgies are among the fish that can be used to make a Fish Skewer, a Fish and Mushroom Skewer, and Salt-Grilled Fish. They also count as seafood when it comes to making Fish Pie, Creamy Seafood Soup, Copious Fish Skewers, Glazed Seafood, Gourmet Meat and Seafood Fry, Meat and Seafood Fry, Monster Stew, Pepper Seafood, Prime Meat and Seafood Fry, Seafood Rice Balls, and Steamed Fish.
