The Steward Construct

As Link explores the Great Sky Island after leaving the Room of Awakening, he will come across a Steward Construct that reactivates when he approaches it. It recognizes him, claiming that Zelda left something for him with it.[2] A compartment within the Steward Construct slides open, revealing the Purah Pad. It claims that the Purah Pad will be useful for navigation.[3] When Link takes it into his hands, it opens to a Map of the Great Sky Island.

The Steward Construct informs Link that Zelda is waiting at the Marker indicated on the Map.[4] Link then asks where they are, and the Steward Construct explains that they are in the Garden of Time.[5] It points out the Temple of Time nearby, which it claims hosted rites for Hyrule in the ancient past.[6] However, it reveals that no one has visited recently.[7] The nearby Terminal activates, and the "Find Princess Zelda" Main Quest will begin.

By following the Marker, Link will find himself in front of the Temple of Time. However, when he tries to activate the Terminal in front of the door with his Right Arm, it will glow red, barring him entry. A figure then appears behind Link, revealing that the door will only open if he has enough power.[8] He apologizes for startling Link, and he introduces himself as Rauru, the source of Link's new Right Arm.[9] Rauru suggests that Link attempt to visit three of the Shrines of Light on the Great Sky Island to restore some of his Right Arm's powers, which will allow him to access the Temple of Time.[10] Following their conversation, "The Closed Door" Main Quest will begin.

After Link completes the Ukouh Shrine, the In-isa Shrine, and the Gutanbac Shrine, he will be able to return to the Temple of Time and open its door.[11] Inside, he will find a glowing vision of a Secret Stone. When he touches it, he will be overcome by Light, and Zelda will appear floating before him. She extends her hand toward him, and when Link takes it, she begins to glow and grants him the power of Recall. Afterwards, she fades away, and Link will return to the Temple of Time.

Rauru appears again, showing a familiarity with Recall.[12] He also notes that Zelda is gone, theorizing that what he saw was an echo of her will.[13] Rauru claims that using Recall will prove important to Link, at which point he disappears once more.[14] With Recall, Link is able to reverse the gears within the Temple of Time, allowing him to access the upper chamber. There, he finds another door, which will drain his Hearts as he pushes it. Rauru claims that he is currently too weak to open it, but he reveals that by visiting the final Shrine of Light on the Great Sky Island and offering his Lights of Blessing to the Great Goddess Statue, he may regain enough strength.[15] He asks Link to show him the Purah Pad,[16] informing him that he will be able to Warp to the Travel Points indicated on the Map.[17] A Marker appears near the Room of Awakening, where the final Shrine can be found.[18]

Once Link has completed Nachoyah Shrine, he can return to the Great Goddess Statue and offer his four Lights of Blessing in exchange for a Heart Container.[19] With four Hearts in his Life Gauge, Link will be able to successfully push open the door. Rauru appears before Link yet again, expressing how relieved he is that Link was able to pass through the door.[20] He admits that Link has yet to recover from being attacked by Gloom Beneath Hyrule Castle, though receiving Lights of Blessing was able to help him heal.[21] He is happy that he was finally able to meet Link, recalling that he is just as Zelda described him.[22] As he disappears, Rauru leaves it up to Link to continue helping Zelda.[23]

Following the path behind the Temple of Time, Link will come across a glowing ball of Light. When he examines it, Recall begins to resonate, and the Decayed Master Sword speaks. Link places it in the Light, where it proceeds to disappear. It then reappears in front of Zelda, who listens as it speaks to her. Link is shocked by the Light Dragon bursting through the clouds, revealing Hyrule below. He then hears the voice of Zelda, who tells him to find her.[24] At this point, the "To the Kingdom of Hyrule" Main Quest will begin.

While Link travels throughout Hyrule, he will discover many clues to Zelda's whereabouts. During "Impa and the Geoglyphs" and "The Dragon's Tears" Main Quests, he views the "Where Am I?" and "An Unfamiliar World" Memories, which reveal that Zelda found herself transported to the ancient past after disappearing from from the Imprisoning Chamber.[25][26] There, she met Rauru and Sonia, the rulers of Hyrule.[25] As part of "Guidance from Ages Past", Mineru reveals that Zelda served as the Sage of Time during the Imprisoning War, where she aided Rauru and the other Sages in sealing Demon King Ganondorf.[27] Following this event, "A Master Sword in Time" shows Zelda obtaining the Decayed Master Sword, and she realizes how she can help Link in the future.[28] Lastly, "Tears of the Dragon" shows Zelda undergoing the process of draconfication, sacrificing herself to become the Light Dragon so that she can restore and empower the Master Sword for Link.[29][30]

After Link and the Light Dragon defeat the Demon Dragon during "Destroy Ganondorf", Link's Right Arm begins to glow. He finds himself floating above the Light Dragon, who begins to absorb power from his Right Arm. The Spirits of Rauru and Sonia appear behind Link, channeling their Light and Time powers through him. As a result, the Light Dragon reverts back to Zelda, and Link's original arm is returned to him. Taking each other's hands, Rauru and Sonia disappear together. As Light overcomes him, Link falls unconscious.

When Link wakes up, he is falling through the Sky, and he spots Zelda falling below him. By Skydiving toward her, he is able to reach for her, finally grabbing onto her hand. Link pulls Zelda close to him, and the two of them fall into the Bottomless Pond. He carries her out of the Water, where she finally awakens after being placed on the ground. She is initially confused, but upon seeing that Link is carrying the Master Sword, she realizes that he was able to defeat Demon King Ganondorf.[31] Asking if she is dreaming, she celebrates Link's victory.[32] She likens her time as the Light Dragon to being asleep, explaining that she woke up when she felt a warm and loving embrace.[33] She thanks Link, claiming that she wants to tell him about all the people she met in the past.[34] With a smile, Zelda declares that she is home.[35] Afterwards, "Find Princess Zelda" will be completed.

Objectives

Stage Description
1 You found yourself on a strange island in the sky after you awoke. A steward construct claimed that Princess Zelda gave it her Purah Pad, all to get it into your hands.

The device's map shows a yellow point of light. The construct said that's where you'll find the princess. You can go near there instantly with the Purah Pad.
2 In the Temple of Time, you approached an altar, and in a flash of light, you found yourself with Princess Zelda. That is, with some phantasmal floating vision of her.

She took your hand and gave you an ability to control time that's known as Recall. Now, the temple's deeper mysteries await you.
3 Rauru said you can't open the door at the back of the temple because you're still too weak.

You need to get one more Light of Blessing at the island's final shrine to offer at the Goddess Statue. The shrine is marked by a bright dot on the map.
4 After going to the final shrine that Rauru told you about, you now have four Lights of Blessing.

If you offer them at the Goddess Statue in the temple, you may regain enough strength to take on the door's test of vitality.
5 After you offered four Lights of Blessing, the Goddess Statue purged gloom from your body. You're far from being restored to your former full vitality, but it was enough to open the door. Rauru said he'd done all he could for Zelda and that now it was up to you. He then vanished, leaving you alone with the temple's final altar. Perhaps his parting words will soon be clear.
6 You didn't find Princess Zelda on the sky island where you awoke. When you touched the light in the Temple of Time, you felt her presence, however faintly, as a voice rang out in your mind: "Link, you must find me."

Where is Princess Zelda? Was there anything more she was trying to tell you?
