It can be stored in Empty Bottles and usually has two helpings. Each helping recovers up to five Hearts, with the exception of Twilight Princess where it only recovers three.

Location and Uses

Ocarina of Time

Lon Lon Milk can be obtained directly from the Cows found inside Secret Grottoes or in Lon Lon Ranch in Ocarina of Time. After playing "Epona's Song" to a Cow, it will reward Link with free Lon Lon Milk.[13] As a child, Link can also buy Lon Lon Milk from Talon for 30 Rupees.[14]

Majora's Mask

In Majora's Mask, Link can also get free Milk from Cows, although it can also be purchased from the Milk Bar for 20 Rupees. Link can also buy a special type of Milk called Chateau Romani for 200 Rupees, which grants him unlimited Magic Power for all three days. Apparently, Chateau Romani has an inebriating effect, as evidenced by Gorman, who overindulges after finding out his troupe's show is cancelled.[15] This may be one of the reasons it is considered a drink for adults.[16]

Link must protect several containers of Milk during a sidequest involving Cremia. When her path to Clock Town is blocked, forcing her to drive through the Gorman Track, Link can use his Hero's Bow or the Troupe Leader's Mask to ward off two masked bandits who attack her cargo. If Link manages to save enough Milk containers, he will be rewarded with Romani's Mask.

In Majora's Mask 3D, Link can obtain the Mystery Milk from the Gorman Brother to deliver to Gorman. Link cannot drink it, and it must be delivered in a certain amount of time or it will turn into Moldy Milk. Link must go back in time to dispose the Moldy Milk.

The Minish Cap

In The Minish Cap, Malon goes to Hyrule Town to sell Lon Lon Milk for 100 Rupees after Link finds the Spare Key to Talon's house. The Milk containers are carried on Epona.

Twilight Princess

In Twilight Princess, Ordon Goat Milk can be purchased in Sera's Sundries for 10 Rupees and in the Goron Shop for 20 Rupees. Link obtains his first Bottle of Ordon Goat Milk from Sera after helping her, although it is only half-full. This Ordon Goat Milk is also used to make Ordon Goat Cheese.

A Link Between Worlds

Milk is sold in the Milk Bar in Kakariko Village for 20 Rupees in A Link Between Worlds. However, after the completion of the Premium Milk side quest, the price is cut in half. Different from previous games, it only contains one helping.

Breath of the Wild

Warm Milk are a kind of Food that Link can make by Cooking Fresh Milk in a Cooking Pot. Drinking them will heal Link's Life Gauge of some of his Hearts. Having one before sleeping will ensure a good night's rest.[12]

Link can add extra ingredients to Warm Milk, which can result in the following variations:

  • Chilly Milk:[17] Made by adding chilly ingredients. By drinking them, Link will receive one level of Cold Resistance.[17]
  • Electro Milk:[18] Made by adding electric ingredients. If drunk, they will grant Link one level of Shock Resistance.[18]
  • Enduring Milk:[19] Made by adding enduring ingredients. They can be drunk to completely restore and overfill Link's Stamina Wheel.[19]
  • Energizing Milk:[20] Made by adding energizing ingredients. When drunk, Link's Stamina Wheel will be partly refilled.[20]
  • Hasty Milk:[21] Made by adding hasty ingredients. These drinks will provide a boost to Link's movement speed.[21]
  • Hearty Milk:[22] Made by adding hearty ingredients. If consumed, all of Link's Hearts will be healed, and he will gain temporary Hearts.[22]
  • Mighty Milk:[23] Made by adding mighty ingredients. Drinking them will grant Link a boost to his attack power.[23]
  • Sneaky Milk:[24] Made by adding sneaky ingredients. When drunk, they will provide a boost to Link's Stealth.[24]
  • Spicy Milk:[25] Made by adding spicy ingredients. One level of Cold Resistance will be given to Link if he drinks them.[25]
  • Tough Milk:[26] Made by adding tough ingredients. Link's defense will be increased when he drinks them.[26]

Ripened Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love

In Ripened Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love, Tingle and friends come across Usotami Village in search of Kakashi, who was captured by Segāre. Once there, they will meet Liar. After a proper meeting, she gives Tingle a list of characteristics of a specific goat-like animal he need to find from a herd. When selected, Liar will milk the animal, finally giving Tingle the Milk. The Milk is used in Big Liar's chamber, where Tingle offers the Milk to calm the monster.

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Lon Lon Milk Bottles in the Nintendo Gallery
  • In MM, the model of Milk is a reuse from Ocarina of Time, and the label is written as "Lon Lon Milk" in Hylian. This was fixed in Majora's Mask 3D.
  • In The Wind Waker, the Cafe Bar on Windfall Island serves Lon Lon Milk, as a chalkboard written in Hylian advertises it along with Deku Seed Cake and Zora Coffee; however, Link cannot purchase any. Empty Bottles of Lon Lon Milk can also be seen in the Nintendo Gallery.
  • At one point during the development of The Minish Cap, it was possible to turn Lon Lon Milk into Butter.[27] However, this feature was later removed.[28]
