Guardian Spears are wielded by Guardian Scouts II inside "A Minor Test of Strength" Ancient Shrines, and they are dropped upon their defeat.[1] They also have a chance to appear in Treasure Chests that spawn when the Breath of the Wild Series Guardian amiibo is scanned with the amiibo Rune. When brandished, Guardian Spears produce a glowing blue spearhead.[1] The spearhead disappears when resting upon Link's back. They have a high piercing power due to being made with Sheikah Ancient Technology.[1]

Being made of Ancient Technology, Guardian Spears deal extra damage to Enemy Guardians. Guardian Spears are not magnetic, so they will not attract Lightning during Thunderstorms or conduct Electricity, nor can they be attracted by the Magnesis Rune. They are also not flammable, which means they will not burn when exposed to Fire or a Scorching Climate. When dropped into a body of Water, Guardian Spears will float upon its surface.

Guardian Spears are part of the equipment archetype known as Guardian Gear, which includes all Weapons utilized by Guardian Scouts.[3]
