Power Gems are Items in Phantom Hourglass.[1]

Locations and Uses

Power Gems are one of three types of Spirit Gems found throughout the World of the Ocean King, along with Wisdom Gems and Courage Gems. They are colored red and bear the Crest of Din, corresponding to the Goddess of Power. A total of 20 Power Gems can be found; many come from hidden Treasure Chests, while others are obtained by means such as purchasing them at Shops, winning them from Mini-Games, or receiving them as rewards from other characters.

On their own, Power Gems have no effect.[2] By collecting 10 Power Gems and taking them to the Shrine at Spirit Island, the servant to the goddess of Spirits uses them to restore the true powers to Leaf, one of Link's companion Fairies and the Spirit of Power.[3] Then, once the Spirit of Power is selected from the Inventory and "equipped",[4] Link's Sword will be engulfed in flames and will gain double attack power.[5] Obtaining all 20 Power Gems allows Leaf to be further upgraded, quadrupling the Sword's power.[6]

With the Spirit of Power equipped, hitting a Phantom or a Reapling from behind will stun it. Some Enemies, such as Bubbles, Phantom Eyes and Fire Keese, can be defeated directly with the Swords and will no longer need to be stunned first.
