Trapdoors are wooden panels found on the floors of most Dungeons. Every fourth beat, they will open to reveal a Hole that, if stepped into, will remove half of a Heart from a hero's Life Gauge.[2] Enemies or Objects that fall into them will be destroyed. After another three beats, the Trapdoor will close and become safe to walk on.
Trapdoor
Trapdoors are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.(FSAFour Swords Adventures)[1][name references needed] Trapdoors go unnamed in Cadence of Hyrule.
Location and Uses
The Wind Waker
Trapdoors are used by Rats in the Jail Maze. If Link crawls onto one, a nearby Rat will use a bell pull to activate the Trapdoor, ejecting Link out to the northwestern end of Windfall Island.
Four Swords Adventures
Trapdoors are indistinguishable from normal ground until activated, at which point they become Holes leading to lower levels.
The variant found in the Cave of No Return activates when one of the Links steps within its area, while the variant in The Field Shadow Battle arena is activated using a Star Tile.
Phantom Hourglass
Trapdoors appear in various Dungeons in Phantom Hourglass, including the Temple of the Ocean King, the Temple of Fire, and Mutoh's Temple. They are invisible panels on the ground that swing open when Link approaches them, sending the hero falling and taking damage if he is not careful to avoid them. After several seconds, the traps automatically close themselves.
In the Temple of Fire, a Map hanging on the wall shows the locations of several Trapdoors, represented by black squares, in the room ahead.
