Sakon is a character in Majora's Mask.[1]

Biography

In Majora's Mask, Sakon is a thief who has a Hideout situated in Ikana Canyon.[2] He is a regular at the Curiosity Shop, which trades in stolen goods.[3]

Sakon's Hideout is protected by a huge Boulder which can only by opened by Sakon himself.[4] Sakon uses the Hideout to store his stolen goods, including the Sun Mask he stole from Kafei.[5] As part of the "A Testament of Love" event,[verification needed] Link and Kafei infiltrate Sakon's Hideout to take back the Sun Mask.

At 6:00 PM on the Night of the First Day, Sakon can be found hiding behind a pillar in the northeast corner of North Clock Town. He claims to not be doing anything suspicious.[6] At 12:30 AM, he will attempt to steal the Big Bomb Bag from the Old Lady from the Bomb Shop.[7] Link can retrieve the bag by striking Sakon with his Sword, which will guarantee the Blast Mask for Link from the old lady. If Link instead attacks Sakon with an Arrow, the Hookshot, or another Bomb, the bag will explode, blowing him up and killing him.

If Link does not prevent the theft, Sakon will appear at the Curiosity Shop 24 hours later at 12:30 AM on the Night of the Second Day to sell the stolen Big Bomb Bag. The Man from Curiosity Shop initially offers 100 Rupees for it.[8] Sakon counters with 200 Rupees,[9] causing the Man from the Curiosity Shop to retaliate by threatening to tell the Bomb Shop about the theft.[10] Sakon is cowed into selling the Big Bomb Bag for only 50 Rupees.[18] He turns to leave the Curiosity Shop at 1:00 AM. If Link speaks to Sakon while he is leaving Clock Town, he will complain about how Man from Curiosity Shop took advantage of him and treated him unfairly.[19] Kafei, who had been spying on Sakon through the peephole in the Curiosity Shop Back Room, follows the thief back to his hideout.[citation needed]

Sakon can be seen in the lower valley of the Ikana Canyon running in circles.[when?] There, he attempts to steal Link's Sword,[20] but is stopped by Tatl.[21]
