The Acheman is a vampire-like bat-demon that is part of the monster horde that seek Ganon's resurrection in AOL. Although they do not disguise themselves as Hyruleans like Aches, they have a far more dangerous transformation.

When it senses an intruder nearby it will swoop down like an Ache. However, when the Acheman touches ground, it transforms into a winged devil that spits fire at intruders. After a few volleys of fire, the Acheman will retreat into bat form and return to the ceiling. The Acheman is significantly stronger than its Ache relatives, but can still be killed with Link's blade.

The Achemen are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][name references needed]

Characteristics

The Adventure of Link

Acheman are monstrous Bats cursed by Ganon.[1] They are companions to Aches, though they do not disguise themselves as Hylians like their counterparts. Instead, they hang from ceilings in deep red, Ache-like forms. When their prey draws close, they swoop to the ground and transform into Bat-like men that spit volleys of fire.[1] After they spit a few blasts of flam, they return to their Ache forms and return to the ceiling.

Achemen are stronger than their Ache counterparts, though they can still be defeated with Link's Sword.
