Guays are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.(OoT | OoT3D | MM | MM3D | TP | TPHD | SS)[1][name references needed]

Characteristics

Ocarina of Time

Guays appear in various locations in Ocarina of Time. They will hone in on Link and pursue him as long as he is within close proximity. They can be defeated up close with the Sword or from afar with a ranged weapon. When defeated, Guays will often drop large quantities of Rupees. After defeating 10 Guays, a larger one will appear.

It's a Guay. You don't know about this one? Just attack it before it swoops down on you. That's all there is to it.

Guays appear in various locations in Majora's Mask. They will hone in on Link and pursue him as long as he is within close proximity. They can be defeated up close with a Sword or from afar with a ranged weapon. When defeated, Guays will often drop large quantities of Rupees. After defeating 10 Guays, a larger one will appear.

A lone Guay can be seen flying around the exterior of Clock Town. Link can play one of the four Temple songs so the Guay will begin dropping progressively more valuable Rupees.[2]

Twilight Princess

Guays appear in large flocks in Twilight Princess. They fly in circles usually out of Link's range. They can be defeated with the Hero's Bow from afar. If all the Guays from the flock are defeated, a large number of Rupees will fall from the sky.

Fi says:

Target lock: Guay

This bird seemingly jettisons its droppings upon people's heads on purpose. It is unclear if this is due to a carefree attitude or pure malice.

Should its droppings land on you, I calculate the probability of your intense aggravation at 100%.

Guays attempt to defecate on Link's head in Skyward Sword. While Link has a Guay's droppings on his head, his Stamina gradually drains. It can be removed by rolling or performing a Spin Attack. Rupee Guays can also be found carrying Rupees in the Sky, which can be snatched by crashing into them.

Trivia

  • The Guays in Ocarina of Time, and by extension Majora's Mask, were designed by Satomi Asakawa.[3]
