Biography

Breath of the Wild

Lyndae is a Goron traveler who can be found in Gerudo Town. At all hours of the day, he sits near the entrance to the Royal Palace, and he carries a Traveling Pack. Despite being a man, he has been allowed entry to Town.[1]

When Link speaks to Lyndae during the day, he incorrectly pronounces sav'otta as "sabotta", which is a Gerudo greeting meaning "good morning".[4] Lyndae explains that one must really bite their lip to get the "V" sound out clearly.[5] One of the Gerudo children made fun of him for not being able to get it right.[6] No matter what he does, he feels that it sounds the same.[7]

At night, Lyndae will struggle to greet Link with "sav'saaba," which is the Gerudo word for "good evening."[8] Lyndae feels that Gerudo words are hard to remember.[9] He also remarks that Gerudo Town truly is full of women and that it smells nice.[10][11] At this moment, Lyndae recalls the rule against allowing men into Gerudo Town, and he wonders why he was let in.[1]

After Link calms the Divine Beast Vah Naboris, Lyndae can be found sitting with Strade, a fellow Goron. When Link speaks to him, Lyndae is finally able to pronounce his greetings correctly.[12][13] However, he still struggles with pronouncing "sav'saaba," instead saying "sav'saava" and "sab'saava."[14] Lyndae also expresses how shy he felt being surrounded by women before Strade came to Gerudo Town.[15] However, he admits that he still feels shy around Strade.[16]
