The South Lanayru Sky Archipelago is a group of several Sky Islands that span the Lanayru Great Spring Sky, the Lanayru Sea Sky, and the Mount Lanayru Sky.[2][3][4] Its westernmost Islands exist within a Freezing Climate, and Link will therefore require at least two levels of Cold Resistance to visit them without taking damage.

The westernmost Sky Island contains a pool, an Air Platform, and a pair of Vehicles. Several sets of Rusty Gear and Decayed Constructs that cannot be searched litter the Island. A Rail can also be found pointed south toward the Spring High in the Heavens. The South Lanayru Sky Archipelago advances higher and to the east toward Valor Island.

The two Sky Islands directly to the east are guarded by Soldier Constructs and contain Vehicles to climb further into the Sky. A Sky Island to the east features a ruined building littered with Rusty Gear and Zonai Devices.

East of Valor Island, there is a Sky Island with a Tilted Platform at the heart of its crossroads. The Shrine Quest for the Mayanas Shrine, "The South Lanayru Sky Crystal", can be found to the northwest of the Tilted Platform and a Device Dispenser can be found to its southeast. North of the crossroads is a small forest with multiple Decayed Constructs that can be searched for Materials. Air Platforms can be found surrounding the land containing the forest, and these lead along a chain of Sky Islands to a larger Island above.

This larger Sky Island is a multi-story structure. Its top level is a flat landscape with hollow Tree Stumps. The level below it is a spacious cave obstructed by a tall wall of roots. Inside this cave, there are several Zonai Devices and a second wall of roots hiding a chamber where the Mysterious Crystal for "The South Lanayru Sky Crystal" can be found. By returning the Mysterious Crystal, Link can gain entry to the Mayanas Shrine.[5][6]
