"Riju of Gerudo Town" is a Main Quest in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Overview

During the "Regional Phenomena" Main Quest, Purah tasks Link with investigating strange occurrences throughout Hyrule in an effort to find Princess Zelda.[2] After "Tulin of Rito Village", "Yunobo of Goron City", and "Sidon of the Zora" have all been completed, Purah will direct Link to visit Gerudo Town, since it is the only place he has yet to visit.[3]

Past the Kara Kara Bazaar, the entire Gerudo Desert will be covered by a Sand Shroud. When Link arrives in Gerudo Town, he will find that the Gerudo have fled to the Gerudo Shelter after their First Encounter with the Gibdos.[4] There are two ways that Link can access the Shelter, The first is by using Ascend while in the waterways beneath Gerudo Town, and the second is by jumping into the hole under the Desk in the Relationship Classroom. In either scenario, the Gerudo Soldiers Ploka and Merina will detect his presence and attempt to apprehend him.[5][6]

However, the Gerudo Soldiers are stopped by Buliara,[7] who informs them that he has received Riju's permission to enter both Gerudo Town and the Gerudo Shelter.[8] She directs Ploka and Merina to inform all of those residing in the Shelter.[9] After they leave, she reasons that Link must have an important reason to come visit during the Sand Shroud.[10] She is shocked to hear that Zelda is still missing, though she is impressed that Link was able to make it to Gerudo Town through the Sand Shroud.[11] She explains that after the Sand Shroud began, the Gibdos attacked the Gerudo and forced them to retreat to the Gerudo Shelter.[12] As a result of this, the Gerudo are currently unable to assist in the search for Zelda.[13] Buliara informs Link that Riju is currently training at the North Gerudo Ruins.[14] Following their conversation, "Riju of Gerudo Town" will begin.

Riju's introduction

At the North Gerudo Ruins, Link can find Riju and her Sand Seal, Patricia. She is practicing her Power of Lightning on a Dummy, though she is unable to hit it directly.[15] When she notices Link nearby, she sheathes her Scimitars of the Seven.[16] Although she did not expect him to come,[17] Riju remarks that he has a habit of showing up during strange circumstances.[18] After hearing Link's story, Riju sympathizes with him and pledges to help as much as she can.[19] However, she is unable to do so until she has dealt with the Sand Shroud, but her investigation has been halted by the appearance of Gibdos.[20] Riju asks Link if he saw her practicing, and she explains her Power of Lightning could be effective against the Gibdos.[21] Since she only learned it recently, though, she is still struggling to control it.[22] Once she masters it, she will be able to end the Sand Shroud and help search for Zelda.[23]

Riju asks Link to help her train by shooting an Arrow at the Dummy, which she believes can help her aim.[24] Once he does so, she is able to successfully strike it with Lightning, and she decides to move on to a more difficult task.[25] Turning to a set of three Dummies, she asks Link to shoot an Arrow between them so she can hit all of them at once.[26] She warns him that the further away a target is, the longer it takes her to build up enough energy to hit it.[27] After hitting these Dummies, Riju celebrates being able to use her Power of Lightning and declares that the Gibdos do not stand a chance against her.[28]

Turning back to Link, Riju thanks him for his help.[29] Suddenly, the two of them hear a strange noise, which leaves Riju confused.[30] At that moment, Faundi arrives, informing Riju that a swarm of Gibdos are descending on Kara Kara Bazaar.[31] Upon hearing this, Riju declares that she and Link should aid with the defenses.[32] Afterwards, both she and Patricia will depart from the North Gerudo Ruins.

At Kara Kara Bazaar, Buliara can be seen commanding the Gerudo Soldiers as the Gibdos approach.[33] She is concerned that they will not fare well without any help.[34] Just then, Riju rushes by her, and she uses her Power of Lightning to strike down a pair of Gibdos. Riju apologizes for taking so long, and she rallies the Soldier to follow her into battle.[35] She then asks Link not to let her down.[36] During the battle, Riju notices that the Gibdos seem to be coming from a nearby hive.[37] She claims that they need to destroy it before they are overwhelmed by Gibdos.[38]

Riju showing concern for Zelda

After all the Gibdos are defeated and their hive is destroyed, Riju commends Buliara for holding their defensive line.[39] She claims that the Gibdos' weakness to Lightning puts them at an advantage.[40] At the other side of Kara Kara Bazaar, Riju, Buliara, and Link and notice a figure that appears to be Zelda.[41] Suddenly, the ground begins to shake as three large tornadoes appear around Gerudo Town, which frightens Riju.[42] Zelda then walks into the Sand Shroud, and although Riju calls out to her, she does not stop.[43] Out of concern for Zelda, Riju commands that Buliara return to Gerudo Town with her.[44] She informs Link that they will be leaving, telling him to meet her at Gerudo Town.[45]

Link can find Riju and Buliara standing outside the Royal Palace of Gerudo Town. When he approaches them, Riju points out the hive near the North Gate, which supposedly appeared at the same time as the tornadoes.[46] She also points out two more hives, located outside the East Gate and the West Gate, and as a result, she believes a large-scale Gibdo attack is imminent.[47] Since the hives are invulnerable into they begin releasing Gibdos, the Gerudo have no choice but to wait until they strike.[48] Once again, Riju hears a strange sound, this time accompanied by a voice beckoning her somewhere southwest of Gerudo Town.[49] Riju is still confused, and Buliara asks if she and Link are well.[50] Riju dismisses her concerns, deciding that she should focus on defending Gerudo Town for now.[51] She then runs into the Royal Palace's Throne Room, where she sits on her Throne.

When Link follows Riju, she notes that no one has reported seeing Zelda after she was sighted at Kara Kara Bazaar.[52] She instructs Link to speak with Buliara and the other Gerudo Soldiers to help orgaize Gerudo Town's defenses.[53] During this time, Link is able to ask Buliara about their plan and the Gibdos.[54] If he asks about their plan, she tells Link to discuss deploying their forces with Teake in the Barracks.[55] He can also talk to Padda in the Palace Courtyard to take advantage of their supplies.[56]

By talking to Teake, Link is able to place the Sword Troops, the Spear Troops, and the cannoneer Barta at either the North Gate, the East Gate, or the West Gate.[57] If he approaches Padda, she will allow him to take the Materials and Weapons they have stored in the Palace Courtyard.[58] She is also capable of building a single Barricade to defend one of Gerudo Town's gates.[59] Once Link has finished preparing, he can return to Riju and inform her of this fact.[60]

Back outside the Royal Palace, Riju admits that she is curious about the strange voice they heard, but their conversation is interrupted by Gibdos beginning to emerge from their hives.[61] Barta calls out to alert her fellow Gerudo Soldiers.[62] Riju then insists that they will need to defeat the Gibdos before they can investigate the voice.[63] Although Teake is concerned about their numbers, Riju assures the Gerudo Soldiers that this is their opportunity to defeat the Gibdos.[64] Jumping in front of the Soldiers, she commands them to show the power of the Gerudo.[65] Buliara also chimes in, stating that they should protect both Riju and Gerudo Town.[66] At this point, the battle against the Gibdos will begin, and Link can use Riju's Power of Lightning to defeat them and destroy their hives.

The Gerudo celebrating their victory

Once the battle is over, the Gerudo will cheer to celebrate their victory over the Gibdos. Back in the Royal Palace's Throne Room, Riju thanks Link on behalf of the Gerudo for his assistance, and she shares her belief that the Gibdos may stop appearing around Gerudo Town.[67] Since the hives turned to Sand after being destroyed, Riju wonders if the Gibdos share some connection to the Sand Shroud.[68] Thinking back on the voice that they heard, Riju is reminded of the Mural in the Underground Shelter, and she asks Link to come view it with her.[69]

In the Gerudo Shelter, Riju points out the Mural in the Underground Shelter to him.[70] She believes it was painted by ancient Gerudo when they were also hiding in the Shelter.[71] The Mural states, "Standing back-to-back with the throne, witness red pillars across a vast sea. Unite the pillars in light to reveal the lightning stone and open the way. You who can hear my voice, come to me. I await you."[72] Riju recalls that the voice mentioned something similar, and she thinks that the Mural could be a clue to finding it.[73]

While standing behind Riju's Throne, Link is able to see the remains of a Red Pillar in the distance. By smashing the rocks covering its floor, Link reveals a Light Beam, which reflects off of a Mirror and shoots into the distance. By following the beam, he will find another Red Pillar, and by turning its Mirror, he will be able to reflect the Light Beam further into the distance. At the third Red Pillar, he must reattach the Poles to the Mirror's lever, which allows him to direct the Light Beam back toward the first Pillar. Once all three Red Pillars are connected by the Light Beam, a Battery will rise at their exact center.

When Link arrives at the Battery, he will find a figure resembling Zelda standing in front of it. Before he can approach her, he is interrupted by Riju riding in on Patricia.[74] She points out Zelda to him, but when they look back at the Battery, she is gone.[75] Riju explains that after seeing the Light Beams, she hurried to their center as quickly as she could.[76] Though she feels like seeing Zelda twice is relevant, she dismisses it as a mystery for later.[77] She is impressed that Link was able to solve the Mural in the Underground Shelter's riddle, and she wonders if using her Power of Lightning is the next step.[78]

The Lightning Temple

After Link shoots an Arrow at the Battery, the Lightning Temple will emerge from beneath the Sand of Dragon's Exile. When Link uses Riju's Power of Lightning to destroy the hive-like structure over its entrance, Queen Gibdo will appear from inside. As it uses its wings to kick up Sand, Riju determines that it is the source of the Sand Shroud.[79] She then rallies Link to defeat it alongside her.[80] Partway through the fight, Queen Gibdo will retreat to the top of the Lightning Temple. Riju states that they may be able to reach it by traversing the Temple.[81]

While walking through the Lightning Temple, Link and Riju eventually reach the Room of Ascension, where Riju states that they must be where the Mural in the Underground Shelter was trying to guide them, and she is certain they will find the origin of the voice they have heard.[82] When Link activates the Terminal in the center of the Room, the Temple's Travel Point will glow. The platform they are standing on also starts to rise, but it only floats a few feet before falling back down.[83] The voice then speaks to Riju again, explaining that she can use her Power of Lightning to charge the platform's four Batteries and reach the top of the Temple.[84] Riju decides that they should follow the voice's instructions.[85]

Queen Gibdo

By using Riju's Power of Lightning on the Lightning stone, Link can charge the Batteries for the platform. As the Batteries are charged, Riju will count how many are left.[86][87][88] After all of the Batteries are charged, Riju instructs Link to return to the center platform.[89] When Link activates the Terminal this time, he and Riju will be lifted to the Lightning Temple 7F. Upon their arrival, Riju notices the glow of a Secret Stone nearby.[90] When Riju's Power of Lightning is used on the hive-like structure in the room, Queen Gibdo will reappear and attack them one more. Riju then declares that this is their chance to defeat it.[91]

Once Queen Gibdo is defeated, a Heart Container will appear. The Sand structure blocking the Secret Stone will also crumble. As Link approaches Riju, the Secret Stone will suddenly shrink and rush before her. When she touches it, it will begin to glow, and a bright light will overtake both her and Link. The Sage of Lightning appears before them, and Riju recognizes her as the voice that has been calling out to them.[92] She identifies herself as Riju's distant ancestor, revealing that she was a Sage who served the first King of Hyrule, Rauru.[93] The Sage expresses her pride for Riju using her Power of Lightning to defend the Gerudo.[94] She reveals that the Demon King Ganondorf sent Queen Gibdo to stop Riju from obtaining her Secret Stone.[95] Upon hearing Riju's confusion, the Sage of Lightning proceeds to show them a vision of the Imprisoning War.[96]

In the early days of Hyrule, the chief of the Gerudo transformed in the Demon King Ganondorf and sought to destroy the kingdom.[97] Rauru and the Six Sages fought the Demon King using Secret Stones, which amplified their abilities.[98] However, they were unable to defeat him, and so Rauru sacrificed himself to seal the Demon King away.[99]

Following the battle, the Sage of Time visited the Sage of Lightning at the Lightning Temple.[100] She revealed that the Demon King Ganondorf would one day break free from his restraints, but when that happens, a swordsman named Link will oppose him.[101] She asked the Sage of Lightning to lend her power to him.[102] As a result, the Sage of Lightning swore that her successor would awaken to fight the Demon King with Link, claiming that the Gerudo must make amends for bringing him into the world.[103]

As the vision ends, the Sage of Lightning reveals that the Demon King Ganondorf is still a threat to Hyrule.[104] She asks Riju to take up her Secret Stone, inherit the title of Sage of Lightning, and fight alongside Link.[105] At that moment, the Sage of Lightning will disappear, and Link and Riju will be returned to the Lightning Temple. Upon reflecting on her new responsibilities, Riju declares that they sound like fun.[106] She accepts her role as a Sage.[107]

Riju's Secret Stone

The Secret Stone turns orange as an inscription appears upon it. It then attaches itself to Riju via an earring. Declaring herself the new Sage of Lightning, Riju shows off her new ability to summon a Sage Avatar of herself.[108] She tells Link to give her his hand, at which point she makes the Vow of Riju, Sage of Lightning.[109] As proof, her Vow inscribes itself on the ring finger of his Right Arm, allowing him to summon her Sage Avatar whenever he needs.[110] Now able to repay Link for all the help he has given her, Riju asks if he wants to return to Gerudo Town.[111]

As the Sand Shroud disappears, Dalia, Kalani, Pearle, Nali, and Pritana can all be seen exiting the Gerudo Shelter. In the Royal Palace's Throne Room, Buliara smiles to herself as she looks toward the Lightning Temple. Upon their return, Riju thanks Link for his assistance, claiming that reports of Gibdo attacks have almost entirely ceased.[112] Although it will take time to rebuild, Buliara is grateful that the Gerudo can live aboveground once again.[113] All of the Gerudo Soldiers in the Royal Palace's Throne Room proceed to bow to Link.

Despite Gerudo Town being safe, Buliara notes that they have found no information about Zelda.[114] Riju then informs her that in the vision she and Link saw, the Sage of Time appeared to be Zelda.[115] If that was Zelda, Riju then wonders who the individual resembling her in the present could be.[116][117] Though Riju is hesitant to leave Gerudo Town currently, she promises to search the area for signs of Zelda.[118] She also swears to support him with her Sage powers.[119] If "Riju of Gerudo Town" is the last Main Quest completed during "Regional Phenomena", Buliara will then direct him to report back to Lookout Landing.[120] Riju hopes that Link will visit again in the future.[121] Afterwards, "Riju of Gerudo Town" will be completed.

Objectives

Stage Description
1 Gerudo Town has been beset by an ominous sand shroud, forcing the people there to retreat to an underground shelter.

Chief Riju, however, was nowhere to be seen. Fortunately, Buliara informed you that the Gerudo leader had gone to the North Gerudo Ruins to train.
2 Upon visiting the North Gerudo Ruins, you found Riju focused on her training.

You should help her practice her lightning strike.
3 Riju was able to strike the targets with her lightning when you used your arrows to guide her. Shortly after, a strange sound was heard, and then a messenger arrived with news of an attack on Kara Kara Bazaar.

Follow Riju to Kara Kara Bazaar, northeast of Gerudo Town.
4 You arrived at Kara Kara Bazaar to find the battle underway. Riju demonstrated the results of her training, saving Buliara with her lightning.

Fight alongside Riju and defeat the Gibdos!
5 Moments after you defeated the monsters attacking Kara Kara Bazaar, Zelda suddenly appeared in the distance, along with strange tornadoes surrounding Gerudo Town. Zelda set out in the direction of town but quickly vanished from sight.

Join Riju and the others back at Gerudo Town.
6 Gibdo hives appeared from within the sand shroud. While the hives and tornadoes loomed ominously over Gerudo Town, a mysterious voice reached out to you once more, beckoning you.

Though this is important, you should continue to work with Riju and the others.
7 A swarm of Gibdos have appeared from within the hives that surround Gerudo Town.

Protect Riju and save Gerudo Town!
8 Fighting alongside the Gerudo soldiers, you defeated the swarm of Gibdos pouring from the hives that threatened Gerudo Town.

Seek out Riju, who asked you to meet her at a mural in the underground shelter beneath the town.
9 The mural you saw in the Gerudo shelter said: "Standing back-to-back with the throne, witness red pillars across a vast sea. Unite the pillars in light to reveal the lightning stone and open the way. You who can hear my voice, come to me. I await you."

Riju thinks the voice and mural are connected.
10 When you shined a light on each of the ancient pillars, the bright beams formed a huge triangle.

Based on the mural you saw in the shelter beneath Gerudo Town, something should have been revealed, perhaps at the center...
11 When Riju struck the mechanism with one of her lightning strikes, a temple appeared. Maybe the owner of the mysterious voice is inside?

You should investigate the interior.
12 A stone emitting some sort of strange light appeared when the massive monster—the source of the sand shroud—was defeated.

Riju is staring at the stone, but what could be going through her mind?
Complete Riju touched the secret stone and listened to her ancient ancestor. A new power awakened in her, and she became the Sage of Lightning. With the monster defeated, the sand shroud in the Gerudo region vanished.

Questions surround Princess Zelda in both past and present, but Riju promised to investigate.

The first report comes from Hebra to the northwest. Next up is Eldin to the northeast. The Gerudo are reporting trouble in the southwest. And finally, there's Lanayru to the east. 47. "But it's not only the one hive... There are three to deal with, each just outside the town gates. I don't need a clairvoyant sand seal to known a massive Gibdo attack is coming." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  48. "Right now those hives are durable and nearly impervious to attack. But when they are open and begin releasing Gibdos, they're vulnerable. The Gibdos won't wait outside our walls forever... So when they launch their attack, that's our chance to strike." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)

  53. "There's something bigger going on, but for now, we need to focus on the problem at hand and prepare to fight. Link, I need your help again. Speak with Buliara and the soldiers, and help us organize our defenses." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  54. "Do you have questions about preparing for the battle?" — Buliara (Tears of the Kingdom)

  57. "Hives of monsters have appeared outside the town walls. It won't be long before we'll need to deal with this threat. How should we deploy our forces? Who should we send and where... We could spread them out to lightly cover all the gates. Or maybe a concentrated force to protect a weakened position? We need to decide who to send where. I'd like to hear your thoughts." — Teake (Tears of the Kingdom)
  58. "I've been gathering materials that I think might be useful in battle. Feel free to take anything you need from here!" — Padda (Tears of the Kingdom)

  60. "Are the preparations complete?" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  61. "Link... I'm curious about that voice we heard earlier, but... Hmm!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  62. "Situation report! Large numbers of Gibdos are moving to attack the town!" — Barta (Tears of the Kingdom)
  63. "Before anything else, we'll need to deal with this." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  64. "Buliara, they have the town surrounded..." — Teake (Tears of the Kingdom)
"Stay strong! This threat is also an opportunity! Fight well, and we can wipe them out in one battle, hives and all!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  65. "Prepare yourselves for battle! Let's show them the true power of the Gerudo!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  66. "Everyone! Protect our chief! Protect our town!" — Buliara (Tears of the Kingdom)
  67. "Link! I am incredibly grateful for your help in the battle. On behalf of all the Gerudo, thank you. I suspect the Gibdo threat will calm down a bit now that we've wiped out the hives that were surrounding the town." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  68. "I noticed that the hives crumbled into sand when we destroyed them... I wonder if the Gibdos have some kind of connection to the sand? Or maybe... Maybe they're connected to the sand shroud? Did they make it? Did it summon them? Hmm..." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  69. "And then there's the voice that you and I both heard. A voice and lightning... This reminds me of something! Link, there's something you should see. Come down to the mural in the underground shelter." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  70. "Oh, Link. You came. Look at the mural on this wall." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  71. "It is thought to have been painted by ancestors of the Gerudo. It appears that when they created it, they were also using this shelter to hide. Perhaps the Gerudo of the distant past were also beset by some great disaster." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  72. "Anyway, the writing on the mural says... "Standing back-to-back with the throne, witness red pillars across a vast sea. "Unite the pillars in light to reveal the lightning stone and open the way. "You who can hear my voice, come to me. I await you."" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  73. "That mysterious voice that spoke to us... Its words reminded me of this mural. This image must represent a location of some kind, and the engraved words are a riddle to discovering its location. It's the only explanation that makes sense." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  74. "Link!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  75. "Did you see that, Link? It's Zelda! What? She's gone..." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  76. "I saw the lights of the red pillars and hurried here as quickly as I could..." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  77. "It cannot be a coincidence that we've seen someone who looked like Zelda twice... But a mystery for another time." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  78. "Did you solve the mural's riddle and cause this to appear? I'm impressed! If I remember corretly, the mural said, "Unite the pillars in light to reveal the lightning stone and open the way..." Maybe my lightning strike is the key..." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  79. "Link, look! It's stirring up the sand shroud! It must be responsible for all this!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  80. "Come on! Let's take it down together!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  81. "It fled up toward the roof... Maybe there's some way to go up after it inside the structure? Come on, Link. Let's look for a way in." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  82. "Link... I'm certain that the mural we saw in town was trying to guide us here. And I believe we'll also find whoever that voice we've been hearing belongs to..." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  83. "Hey! The floor started to rise, then slammed back down!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  84. "Daughter... Daughter of the Gerudo... This platform connects to the very top of this temple. Use your power to charge the four batteries, and it will function once more. Heed my words..." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  85. "I heard the voice very clearly just now. It's calling to me... It said that I should use my power to charge the four batteries... The monster we fought outside earlier fled to the top of this temple... And the voice that has been speaking to us said the platform should be able to take us all the way up there. If that's true, we could corner the monster at the top. We might also figure out who is talking to us, and why... OK, Link! We need to get to the very top! To start, we should do what that mysterious voice suggested and try to find those four battery devices." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  86. "So this is one of the batteries... It seems to have absorbed my lightning well enough. All right, three left!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  87. "Two more left, Link! Let's hurry!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  88. "OK! Only one more battery to go!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  89. "All right! We've charged all of the batteries with lightning. That should wake up the mechanism in the center. Let's go, Link!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  90. "Hm? Something is shining over there." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  91. "Let's go! We'll finish it off here and now, Link!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  92. "Riju...beloved daughter of the Gerudo." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
"I know that voice... You are the one who's been talking all this time." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  93. "Yes. Your ancestor from a time long past... I was a Gerudo warrior who served the first king of Hyrule and a sage who called down lightning. Just as you can." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  94. "I've seen you brandish the power you have in defense of our people... I would expect nothing less from my descendant. You are the pride of the Gerudo." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  95. "The Demon King is responsible for sending the monster that caused the sand shroud. But the monster's true purpose was to prevent you from obtaining that stone—my secret stone." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  96. "Demon King? Secret stone?" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
"Don't worry. You will understand soon enough. Let me tell you of events in our distant past. The events that shaped our people's destiny—during the Imprisoning War." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  97. "Long, long ago...when the kingdom of Hyrule was still young... A great evil, the Demon King, emerged. He attacked the innocent and sought the destruction of Hyrule. He was our chief...before he changed. His obsession with power transformed him into a monster." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  98. "Rauru—the first king of Hyrule—and six warriors rose to oppose him. I'm proud to have been one of them. We faced the Demon King but only after Rauru gave us the secret stones. Artifacts that amplified the abilities of those who carried them. I—the Sage of Lightning—fought by my fellow sages in battle with my own secret stone." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  99. "But we were no match for his overwhelming power. He endured our strongest attacks. Even the lightning strikes I called down... King Raru knew we had lost the battle against the Demon King. He made the ultimate sacrifice, to imprison the Demon King... To seal him away." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  100. "Some time later... Another of the six sages—the Sage of Time—came to visit me, and she set the Gerudo on our destined path." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  101. "The magic restraining the Demon King will eventually be undone. When that time comes, you must help Link. He is a noble swordsman who will fight that monster." — Zelda (Tears of the Kingdom)
  102. "So please... He will need your assistance. Lend him your power... The Gerudo's control of lightning!" — Zelda (Tears of the Kingdom)
  103. "We wish nothing more than to eliminate the Demon King. We are responsible for his very existence in this world, and for that we must make amends. I swear to you that when the Demon King returns, the Gerudo Sage of Lightning will awaken one more. The Gerudo sage and her people will fight alongside your swordsman" — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  104. "And now I have told you all I can of the Imprisoning War and of our people's destiny... You have saved Gerudo Town, but the Demon King still remains a threat." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  105. "Riju, daughter of the Gerudo... you must take up my secret stone and honor the vow I made to the Sage of Time long ago. Fight alongside the swordsman Link..." — Sage of Lightning (Tears of the Kingdom)
  106. "So it's my destiny to fight by your side... My destiny as a sage, my duties as chief, and fighting side-by-side with you? Ha! Sounds like fun!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  107. "I will gladly strike down this so-called Demon King! I guess it's time to claim my destiny!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  108. "I am the Sage of Lightning! Witness this new power I possess!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  109. "Link, give me your hand. I, Riju, the Sage of Lightning, swear that I will stand with you!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  110. "And here—as proof of my vow! Use that ring to call on my power whenever you need it." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  111. "It seems I can finally repay you. OK, should we head back to town?" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  112. "Ah, Link... I am grateful to you for helping me save the Gerudo. I've received reports that ever since the sand shroud dissipated, Gibdo attacks have almost entirely stopped." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  113. "It will no doubt take some time to rebuild, but it is thanks to your help that we can live on the surface again. On behalf of all the Gerudo people, thank you." — Buliara (Tears of the Kingdom)
  114. "I am sorry to say, though, that despite the safety of Gerudo Town no longer being a pressing concern... we still haven't been able to uncover any information on the whereabouts of Princess Zelda." — Buliara (Tears of the Kingdom)
  115. "Actually, Buliara... I do have a small piece of information regarding Zelda. I experienced a visionw hen I took the secret stone in my hand. The person that my ancestor referred to as the Sage of Time looked identical to Zelda." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  116. "What if that actually was Zelda... Then the Zelda that was in the distant past... The one my ancestor knew... That's the real Zelda. The Zelda we saw has to be someone else. Things start to fit together if we assume that much is true. Hmmm... There's still more to investigate. We don't have enough information to be sure." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  117. "Someone who just happens to look like Zelda... That doesn't explain everthing that's been going on. But it's impossible to deny that someone resembling Zelda has been spotted across Hyrule, and that terrible events follow her. The Zelda we know and the Zelda we saw in the vision of the distant past are incredibly similar. If the Zelda in the past is our Zelda, then who is this other person? We must uncover her true identity." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  118. "I'm sorry, Link. Although the threat of the sand shroud and the Gibdos has passed... I cannot leave Gerudo Town at the moment. Things need some time to settle. However, we will take on the task of searching this area for any signs of Zelda." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  119. "And with my newfound power as a sage, I will still be able to support you. I swear that I will do anything I can to help!" — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  120. "Link... You said you had already visited Rito Village, Goron City, and Zora's Domain... I'm sure Lookout Landing would value any information you could share. Why not go there and see if you can help?" — Buliara (Tears of the Kingdom)
  121. "I hope your travels bring you back here again, Link." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  122. "格鲁德小镇的露珠" — Adventure Log (Tears of the Kingdom, Simplified Chinese localization)
