Slingshots,(OoS | FSA | TP | SS)[1] also known as Fairy Slingshots,(OoT)[1] are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series.

Location and Uses

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, the Fairy Slingshot is found Inside the Deku Tree. While Link is a child, the Fairy Slingshot serves as his only projectile weapon, replaced by the Bow in adulthood. It fires Deku Seeds,[2] which are commonly found by cutting grass or defeating enemies. The Fairy Slingshot must be used for many tasks to aid Link on his quest, including defeating enemies such as Skulltulas and shooting far away Switches.

Oracle of Seasons

Oracle of Seasons Manual Descriptionhide ▲

Slingshot
Use the Slingshot to shoot seeds at distant objects. Shooting different seeds will produce different effects. If you don't have any seeds, you can't use the Slingshot.

In Oracle of Seasons, the Slingshot is located inside the Dancing Dragon Dungeon. This Slingshot uses Mystical Seeds, serving the same purpose as the Seed Shooter in Oracle of Ages. The main difference between them is that, with the Slingshot, the direction of the seed cannot be changed while preparing to shoot; moreover, the seeds will not ricochet if they come in contact with a wall.

The Slingshot can be upgraded to the Hyper Slingshot. It shoots three Mystical Seeds at a time in three different directions. It is found inside Sword & Shield Maze.

Four Swords Adventures

Slingshot
Hit an opponent with a Deku nut to freeze him for a moment. Press and hold the A Button and then release it to fire even more Deku nuts!

In Four Swords Adventures, the Slingshot can be found in various Levels; however, it can only be used in the Level where it is obtained, as all items disappear from Link's inventory once the Level is completed. If Link gives it to a Great Fairy, it will be upgraded to the Level 2 Slingshot, which allows Link to fire seeds in three different directions at once. Also, Link can charge the Slingshot to increase its travel distance. Different from previous games, the Slingshot has unlimited ammunition.

Twilight Princess

In Twilight Princess, the Slingshot is available for purchase at Sera's Sundries in Ordon Village for 30 Rupees. It uses Pumpkin Seeds as ammunition, which can be found when destroying Ordon Pumpkins. The Slingshot can knock down beehives in one shot and defeat small enemies like Skullwalltulas and Keese. Once Link obtains the Bow, the Slingshot becomes mostly useless, as it has less range and cannot damage bigger enemies.

Skyward Sword

In Skyward Sword, the Slingshot is given to Link by the Kikwi elder Bucha in the Faron Woods after finding three of the missing Kikwis. The Slingshot can be upgraded to the Scattershot at the Scrap Shop. This upgrade can fire several shots at once, widening the area that it can hit. Despite firing multiple projectiles, it only consumes one seed per use, as it breaks the seed into several pieces.
