Hylia River is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Hylia River runs between Hyrule Field, the Lanayru Wetlands, and West Necluda. It begins on the east side of the Hyrule Castle Moat near Boneyard Bridge, and it flows into Nabi Lake and Squabble River. It ends as a Waterfall that pours its contents into Lake Hylia. The Orsedd Bridge, Rebonae Bridge, Eagus Bridge, Horwell Bridge, Owlan Bridge, and Proxim Bridge all span Hylia River. The Floret Sandbar is also located within the River.

At Wetland Stable, Link can find Izra staring into the Water of Hylia River.[3] When spoken to, he explains that there is a Treasure Chest at the bottom of the River, but he has no way to retrieve it.[4] Hearing this initiates the "Riverbed Reward" Side Quest. Using the Magnesis Rune, Link can pull the Chest from the Water to receive a Knight's Broadsword.

Several Treasure Chests are located within Hylia River. Metal Chests can be pulled out of the Water using the Magnesis Rune, while wooden Chests can be lifted using Cryonis. In total, these Treasure Chests contain four Purple Rupees, three Ambers, three Opals, one Traveler's Sword, one Soldier's Claymore, ten Fire Arrows, and five Shock Arrows. In Master Mode, a Knight's Halberd can be found in a Treasure Chest at the end of the River.

Three Korok Seed Puzzles can be found in and along the Hylia River. There are stone Circles at Boneyard Bridge and southeast of Scout's Hill which require Link to throw a Rock into its center. There is also a Cube Pattern at the end of Hylia River that must be matched. Once these Puzzles have been solved, a Korok will appear and give Link a Korok Seed.[5]
